Great product. Goes on smooth. Very little sanding. You must put on thin. 2-3 coats, drying in between coats.

Can this product be used in a sprayer application?
Dennis F on May 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have not sprayed it myself but I talked to the Mohawk technical services. They say you can spray this product. Depending on the type of sprayer you have and your experience, they recommend using a nozzle around 1.4mm, make sure to have a mask for yourself, and spray where you can minimize overspray. You can thin the Rockford with mineral spirits if you want to spray thinner coats. Maybe around 10-20% is most they recommend or else you will get too thin of a coat. But overall should not be a problem.
How can I use this product in a similar manner to get similar results as described here? I previously stained and finished my first floor (Eastern White Pine installed with steel cut nails) in 1987. I used Minwax stain and some poly that I don't remember and likely couldn't find again. The initial protective sealing coat was 1:1 tung oil:oil-based poly (low sheen); we might have also added mineral spirits to help with penetration, I honestly don't remember. The second (final) coat was only the full strength oil-based poly. It still looks great and is very water and ammonia/cleaner tolerant. I now need to finish my attic (3rd floor) library, craft space, and kitchenette. I've developed a custom stain (Minwax) and am hoping to find a penetrating finish like I used before. (I hate finishes that look like a clear but opaque-y laminating paper is atop the wood grain.) I would very much welcome and greatly appreciate any suggestions or feedback.

BEST ANSWER: I do not suggest buying this product. I purchased 2 quarts. Both had some type of sandy particles suspended in it. Their staff could not find the time to go open a container on their shelf and tell me if this was normal or not. They huffed and puffed when I asked if they could. Furthermore, they do not know their products. We need to send ours back for a credit now. We did get satisfaction from Mohawk directly to our questions though. Something was wrong with that batch or lot number. So, I'd contact mohawk and ask them directly and be sure that problem is corrected if you decide to purchase so you dont waste weeks like I had to.
Can this be applied over epoxy countertops?
K C on May 22, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this will work over an epoxy substrate. Here is some information that may help you in the application of the varnish.

Preparation:

Mix thoroughly with a paddle. Do not shake.
Sand raw wood with 150-180 grit sandpaper and remove dust. If stained, allow it to dry completely

Application:

Apply a thin first coat and full subsequent coats. Apply with a natural bristle brush in thin uniform coats in the direction of the grain.
Overlap each stroke and allow the material to flow. Do not over brush.
Allow each coat to dry completely before sanding.
Sand between coats with 320 grit paper and remove dust before applying another coat.

Drying time: Allow to dry 48 hours before use. Rockhard Table Top Urethane Varnish sets to dust free in about 4 hours, dry to handle in 14 hours. Recoat in 14 hours.
Will I be able to feel the wood grain if I use this product on my wood counter tops we are building? I also want to see the details of the grain.
Psuls H on Dec 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No you can not feel the wood grain. This was one of the most difficult products I ever used. Will be looking for something else in the future.
Can this be put over other finishes?
E S on Dec 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Make sure the original finish is clean and free of oil and wax. Lightly sand the surface down to scuff the surface and remove any old loose finish before applying the Mohawk.
