Better than expected
I should have bought this sooner. It holds the parts really well while I'm routing and using the belt sander. It doesn't leave any black marks on the wood as others have reported. I store it in a 24" round mailing tube to avoid wrinkles caused by folding it. The sawdust falls between the mesh and keeps the working surface more dust free than I expected it could.

Router mat
I have used Rockler mats in the past. Retired now, I needed one for a new hobby, carving. Works very well. Holds the chip carving blank.

Don’t know why I waited
I was recently asked if I could round-over the edges of a group of cutting boards for someone. Since every project should be able to justify a new piece of gear, I decided to get this and use a small edge trimming router. Wonderful mat. Everything stayed solidly in its place.

Router pad
I have worn a couple of these out over the years. I use them as both a non-skid pad for routing and also for sanding.

I have just started to use it but so far it’s better than I thought it would be. The only thing that I have been having trouble with is getting the chips out of it. But beets useing clamp. Yes I would recommend it to anyone.

Non-Slip Router Mat
Have not really used much, but I don't see any problems going forward after taking it out of the package. It does grip.

I am never happy using my main Router freehand, it is heavy and it is difficult to clamp the edge of the workpieces while routing. I don’t have any issue with my trim router

Have a custom laser engraving business and do a lot of photo engraved custom made basswood plaques that need key holes and routed edges on them. This product will make it much easier to use the router.

Is this the same material found on the bench cookies?
Susan C on Aug 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No...it is more like the material found in rubber cabinet liners. But works great.
If I use this on my luthier bence will it stick to, or mar a guitar finish?
Skyfog on Dec 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Be careful, I don't know if yours (mat) is like mine but I noticed little black marks on the maple I was working with after sanding one side, can't chance that without risk of having to resand.
How do these compare to the router mat? I’m thinking if using mostly for routing pieces that are to small to be able to clamp. Think narrower than the base

Rockler Bench Cookie® Plus Work Grippers
BEST ANSWER: I use them for small pieces about 2 to 3" x 8 to 12", but anything smaller I still break out the mat, they are great for larger items like doors or door fronts for cabinets, I know they show that you can set a piece on it and route the edge, but I personally feel safer clamping it or having it set flat on my workbench. To me it's a great product if used properly, but I tend to think safety first. The last thing I want is to be putting the finishing edge on a work-piece and it moves in any direction. I use these mostly for sanding purposes. I hope this helps.
Could this be used with a Cnc router, like the X Carve?
Thomas H on Dec 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would not when they get dusty they lose there grip
