Woodworking Experience:
Some of the woods I turn , this is of no use and soft ones ,you may as well be trying to drill with a dull bit.
Forget it use a set of jaws in your chuck.. You will save a lot of time and money. I know you have jaws or you would not be turning.

Will most of your products fit a old delta Milwaukee wood lathe?
Henry R on Mar 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Sir what you really have to know is the size of your opening that is on the head and tail stock. The most common sizes are MT1,MT2and MT3. And how many threads per inch that is on your head stock ( example 1x8 in one inch there are 8 threads and so forth) then u will be able to match the pieces u would like to purchase or need overall yes they will fit if u know the correct sizes to fit ur machine. Ps if u need a tool rest get the size that fits into ur banjo hope this helps
Would this nova spur center fit my 1950's shipmates wood lathe?
Joe S on Nov 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You would have to check the tapered hole in the headstock. This one is a MT 2.
some older lathes have been known to use a MT! which is quite a bit smaller
What does it mean 2MT for a headstock?
Merlin P on Apr 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It refers to the internal taper of the spindle as a #2 morse taper. The outside of most wood lathe spindles are threaded, but they are hollow with tapered ends offering the ability to insert spur centers. So you need to know the machine's spindle taper and match it with the spur center you intend to use. The tail stocks mostly follow the headstock taper, but not always.
will this fit my Jet mod # JML-1014?
tim c on Jan 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Jet 1014 has a 2MT headstock taper. It will fit. More question about your lathe? Download the manual from Jettools. Hope you have a lot of fun with your lathe.
David W on Feb 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The taper on this drive center is a short standard number 2 Morse taper. I know nothing about the lathe. There is no guess work. If the taper is the wrong size it will be evident from the start. I will add that most lathes sold in the US for the last 75 years (at least) have all been some size of a Morse taper.
Will it fit central machinery lathe
