Rockler Piloted Flush Trim Router Bits - 1/4" Shank

The ball-bearing pilots on these bits make it virtually impossible to cut too deep, eliminating expensive and time-consuming rework. The bearing guide is on the bottom of the shaft, below the blades, which lets you trim face frames flush with cabinet sides, shelf caps flush with shelves, or veneers and laminates flush with the substrate. The cutter can also be used for template work where the template is below the worked material or, alternatively, with a router mounted in a router table where the template is above the worked material. In both cases it is suitable for straight and particularly shaped patterns.

  • Two and three flute cutters.
  • 1/4" shanks.

Works like a dream
I had used a cheap router bit to flush trim some laminate veneer and it ripped in some areas. Not this bit - smooth, clean finish.

Rockler flush trim bit
The bit works great. I would have preferred to but was unable use my 1/2" shank bit in my small router for this task so I purchased the 1/4" shank bit.

Flush trim
These bits may be small but they are real workhorses!
I love that Rockler provides good bearings with
the bits. I don't have to worry that they will come
flying off or seize up after minimal use.

Does what it is supposed to
I am sort of new to the world of router tables so I was a little hesitant about using this bit in my router table to use it as a vertical jointer. It actually works great. Took me a few times to make the proper adjustments on the table before it worked as it should but that was not the fault of the bit.

What is the advantage of the 1/4" diameter or 3/8" diameter since they are the same price?
Robert S on Apr 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You can route tighter inside corners with the 1/4" bit. I even use the 1/8" version from time to time.
is this a carbide bit?
Rick M on Oct 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Not a solid carbide but the cutters are carbide.
