Trend Airshiled Pro filters
I have had my Airshield pro for several years and use it in my workshop and for mowing and chainsawing. I usually just shake and blow out the accumulated dust (standing upwind) and the filters are still OK. I wish they would bring out some P3 filters as they have for the new stealth dustmask

Trend replacement air filters
Expensive but worth it to me because of chronic lung problems. Used almost exclusively when turning.

Backup filters
I bought these filters to have on hand whenever the ones that come with the mask get plugged up. After several months of intermittent use I have not had occasion to replace the originals yet.

Old ones have been vacuumed many times, and are pretty filthy at this point. Time for new ones.

BEST ANSWER: I have used my Trend Air Shield Pro for about a year and a half. I regularly vacuum the filters off with my shop vac from the outside of the helmet (sometimes carefully from the inside) while they are still mounted. This seems to work well as the airflow inside the face shield is still testing fine fine. I have not felt the need to replace the filters yet (I do wood turning). Trend has been extremely helpful whenever I have a question. I'm sure they can answer your washing question. I would not be afraid to try it, but I'd probably call them first. Hope this helps.
Are the filters suitable for painting?
Mike A on Feb 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would give a hearty no.
These fiters are rated for wood dust...
If you have a NIOSH rated respirator thats the kit to use... be sure you get the proper filter cartridges.
I was a safety coordinator for 5 years....
Best of luck..
