Woodworking Experience:
Product = Great | Shipping = PATHETIC
The product itself is great. With all Rockler items, well made and easy to use. But the Rockler websiter won't allow for shopping and shipping to Canada. So you have to go to another website managed by UPS on behalf of a number of retailers, Rockler being one. It took Rockler 4 days to fill the order, and then UPS 6 days to go from Minnesota to Winnipeg, and then UPS turned the package over to Canada Post and they needed only 2 days to get it to me.
Why couldn't Rockler just use a "real" website for shopping and provide options for shipping, such as UPS Air, UPS Ground, USPS, etc. ? PATHETIC.

Solid piece of metal
This fence flip stop is very well made. Solid. So much better than getting a stop say from another company made of plastic or abs. I have only used it for one time. Will be getting more to use on my miter station track I installed.

Works like advertised
A little tough to move up and down but a touch of WD-40 makes it glide. Well worth the effort if you’re doing multiple pieces the same length or need a second set of hands to hold a piece in place

Rockler makes really good devices with great prices. This will work beautifully with my new miter saw precision measuring fence system. I was able to get lots more distance for lots less money as compared to the Kreg Precision measuring system kit.

Is there a shorter flip stop out there? I have an older model Incra drill press table. The fence is less than 2 inches tall. I got a couple of Woodpecker flip stops, but the aren't long enough to contact the table when flipped down.
Sawdustmaker on Apr 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If you need a shorter flip stop, you can cut the lever to a shorter length. This is constructed with aluminum, so easy to cut shorter to the length you need.
Will this stop work on the Kreg Top Trak system? Im looking for a good option for a flip stop steup on my drill press table. My drill press fence already has the Kreg Top Trak on it. I know you can use the Kreg Flip stops for this. I am looking for a cheaper/smaller sized flip stop to use with my drill press table.

Kreg 48'' Top Trak Fence
Kreg 48'' Top Trak Fence
BEST ANSWER: The flip stop comes with a 5/16" T-bolt which is too wide for the Kreg T-Track so you need to do some grinding on the stock T-bolts or replace them with 1/4" equivalents.
Will this stop work on the Osborne EB-3 miter gauge?
Mr Bill on Jun 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Bill. I have an EB-3 miter guage and the flip stop will not work on it. If you do want to use it you have to change the knob and bolt to fit the track and use a sacrificial fence (something I do not use with this miter guage). Hope this helps.

Will this work with the small parts sled?
Rwar407 on Sep 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. I bought the Flip stop and used it. Keep in mind though, if you have that clear plastic to protect from the blade, that thing gets in the way of the fence stop. It would only matter if you had to make such a small cut and want to have the fence flip stop that close to the piece. Not sure if I explained that properly.
I am making a new cross cut sled for my tablesaw, and would like to have an adjustable stop built into the forward fence. What parts would I need to do this?
Craig W on Oct 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You will need a t-track on the top of the fence. Rockler has simple t-track available OR you can install a "double t-track fence cap" which can hold a t-track tape measure. Check out both options - the double t-track is a great setup.
My track is on top of my fence instead of behind it will this still work good?
Charlie T on Feb 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If I understand your question correctly, the answer is YES, the flip stop will work with the T-track on top of the fence as well as on the face of the fence. I have fences with track on the face of the fence as well as on top and I use the flip stop equally well in both applications. The picture in the catalog shows the flip stop in use with a top mounted track.
Will this system work on an Ayen track system?
A shopper on Aug 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know. I ended up returning them and purchasing the Kreg stops. If I remember correctly, I needed a right and left with the leg on the leading edge. The Rockler version may not be reversible.
How do I install the hairline adapter on the flip stop? And how do you use it. Thanks
Gary A on Jan 8, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Gary, I measured a board to a specific length, 24” in my case, lined it up on my miter saw, clamped it in place, and cut it. I then moved the stop to meet the edge of the board and aligned the tape measure and the hairline marker. I’m accurate to a 1/32” using this method.
I have a 2 1/2 in tall shop made fence with a t-slot on top. I would like do know what the setback for these is. (distance from fence face to center of track)?
Thomas L on Nov 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: From the center of T track to the face of the fence is 1-1/8” to 1-1/4”. If you set a piece of T track up against the backside of a 3/4” fence, the stop will work perfectly.
Has anyone added plexi-glass to this stop block in order to make an accurate tape measure reading? If so,how did you attach the plexi to the stop block. thank you
Dominick G on May 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can scratch the surface with sandpaper to remove the blue coating. With it roughened with sand paper you can super glue or epoxy the clear plastic to have a marker line. What I do is use the side with a ruler on the fence. For micro dialing it in, you can drill a hole through the stop and run a tape and dye through the hole for threads and install a screw or bolt.
does rockler make a opposite faceing flip down piece (right and left) I need this for my application?
Charles H on Apr 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have not seen one. I tried reversing mine and you cannot do it with the factory screw. There is not a recessed part on the reverse side, so you would need a longer screw to move the fence to the other side.
I cut mostly 2x4, 2x6, and this stop sturdy enough to take some light impact without breaking?
kbctruss on Nov 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have used my flip stop when working with 2x4 stock but have not had opportunity to use it with any 2x6 or 2x8 stock. It worked fine with the 2x4s. I guess the key is whether your definition of "light impact" and mine are similar when considering whether the stop will stand up without breaking. I experienced light impact against my stop when working with the 2x4s and the stop was solid. Based on that I don't see any reason why it would not be the same for 2x6 and 2x8 stock . . . assuming of course that the impact force is indeed "light".
