Why didn’t I splurge on this sooner?
One of those things you are really glad to have after you’ve used it ... it’s a one time purchase that will work for as long as I’m sanding - save the scissor hassle and bad tears after folding and get this thing — I’ve been sanding bathroom cabinets and already consider it has paid for itself

I use this to cut 41/2" sheets of heavy duty sandpaper for my flap sander. No need to measure, just line up with guides. Works great, is very sturdy and the hole for hanging is convenient. Made a fussy job easy!

Is it better to tear the sandpaper with the grit side up or down?
Bob J on Feb 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I always tear it grit side up for a couple reasons. One is that it doesn't scratch up the metal plate and the other is that it doesn't slip around as much.
