Sjobergs Junior/Senior Workbench

Item #

Rating:

This little workbench packs all of the big bench features you've come to expect from Sjobergs into a compact footprint - perfect for those with smaller shops. The bench is built from solid birch, and held together with sturdy lag bolts and mortise-and-tenon joints. It features a full-featured tail vise and face vise, both with double guide rods to minimize racking, and both with double rows of dog holes for clamping versatility. The bench is 33-3/4" tall, but can easily be shortened to 25-1/4" using the included shorter trestle legs - perfect for children or for working in a seated position. Includes four steel-reinforced plastic bench dogs with a double-ended design that allows them to be inserted through the bottom of the bench top for clamping thin materials. The included bottom shelf provides a convenient place to store your tools. A great workbench for those living in a small home, condo or apartment.

Great little table, but I wish the clamp was a wee bit longer. Comes with two pre-drilled sets of legs for adult and kid heights.

My son wanted a bench for Xmas and I dont have the time currently to build one.....<br />If he forgets about it (as he is 6) Dad will use it. After all, it is a nicer quality than the bench I use currently.

Is it stable enough for planing wood?
Caroline S on Nov 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I bought this for my elderly father to do little projects on in his assisted living home. It is very small; more suitable for children. However, it is built very sturdy and I think it is of very good quality. I assembled it for my father, but I have not used it myself. I do believe it should accommodate small planning projects just fine. The vices are especially nice and good quality.
are the stretchers dadoed into the leg or just flush? I may want to reverse the front one to act as a foot rest.
james c on Oct 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The stretchers are flush.
Are the vises made with solid steel bars like the ones on the Rockler bench?
Joe B on Dec 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes they are, as well s a steel screw and socket to move the vise. For my needs and use I think they are more than adequate and will probably outlast me without even trying.
What is the maximum clampable length using the end vise?
coburnjah on May 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I just measured with bench dogs in the farthest holes and got 38".
