Stainless Steel Nails for Shutter System

Item #
45400
Rating:
80% of 100

Cut from coils of 16 gauge stainless steel, these brad nails will stay free of rust and corrosion regardless of the elements. They are ideal for any outdoor application, and are especially well-suited for our Hidden Control Arms for Louvered Shutters (#49991, sold separately). If rain or moisture condensation migrates onto your shutters, the pivot points between the nails and Hidden Control Arm will still move as freely as the day they were installed. Recommended for use with the Rockler Shutter System. Use the Shutter System Hidden Control Arm Jig Kit (#45143, sold separately) to drill perfectly-sized pilot holes for the nails in the louvers.

The correct materials make projects go smoother with better results
Stainless steel keep them from rusting. The size is perfectly matched to the shutter and moveable arm.

Stainless steel nails
I think it gives a better look to the shutter, just take you time installing them, a slight placement either side can cause a split in the end of the louver. Very happy overall with all parts purchased. And jigs made to help set up.

Stainless Steel Nails for Shutter System
I bought several packages of these to us on affixing Aluminum Channel to edges of Camping Boxes I was building . After the first package came up short of 50 nails, I counted the next 6 packages I opened, and two more came up short. This necessitated making another trip to the nearest Rockler Store, which was 30 minutes each way. Also a work of caution: If you slihtly bend one be careful pulling it oput...they break easily!!!

Misleading quantity
The product is fine, but package indicates 50/pack. I received 2 packs, combine were 90. I went to local stores on day off to get the few nails missing to complete project, but local stores did not carry 7/8" stainless steel nails to match. I call customer service for nails that were missing. I was offered the 7-10 days for 8 missing nails for a $2.99 product. I've spent $675.96 on Rockler products this year. I was expecting more (plus the wait to speak as chat line was unavailable, plus gas etc)

I was worried about how hard it would be to nail the hidden control arm into the end of the louvers. But with the right jig it's flawless every time! (MAKE SURE you get the hidden control arm jig!! The one that comes with the shutter kit is NOT the one!)
