these brackets were just great for our daybed project. They are sturdy and have made the bed easy to disassemble when necessary. The only thing that would make them greater would be instructions.

Works good
Item worked perfectly as described. Did not come with any screws but the hardware itself was well designed. Held the rails to the headboard and footboard snugly and securely.

Bed frame easy to disassemble with these.
Easy install. I was skeptical that they would be sturdy enough for a bed but sure enough, works great.
Not great pics, sorry. Easy install even for an amateur. It’s a 1X6 side rail and a 4X4 bed post.

We have an antique bed frame with broken hardware in one corner. I'm hoping there is enough wood left in the rail to screw this hardware in for a stable corner. Guests coming for Thanksgiving!

I started a hobby making furniture and I have started with headboard and footboards. I am starting with making my granddaughter a bed and for my wife a farm house bed. I do plan to make dressers and bed side draws also. I have been looking all through the internet and found your sight and I liked your products so I plan to odor more later on

The carpenter we are working with suggested these because it looked easier to mount. Also based on the pictures submitted it would work well with the design of the bed.

Will this fit a 2x4 rail?
Jennifer E on Dec 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They will fit a true 4" board side.
How many pounds the rail brackets hold?
A shopper on Aug 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know the exact amount the brackets will hold. I used the brackets on two queen size beds for my daughters after they graduated college. One has lasted four years without a problem. The other bed is only six months old but so far so good. The brackets make the bed easy to break down and move and I highly recommend them. I would never use them on a bunk bed just out of caution. Good Luck.
In the bedrail instruction pdf, is the picture (figure 2) upside down? On the bracket attached to the post, the tab is down, but on the other pictures it is up.
Jennifer S on Jul 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Jennifer, you are correct. Figure 2 is upside down. If we assume that Figure 2 is oriented correctly, it is easy to see that the side rail bracket would not be retained and would immediately disengage from the headboard bracket. The tab on the headboard should be oriented up to engage the sideboard bracket hook. The sideboard tab should be pointed down to slip into the headboard bracket hook.
Are these safe for bunkbeds?
Wilson G on May 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: IF I were to use these on an upper bunk rail, I would add a screw in the post that prevents the bracket from disengaging if the rail were to be struck from below. Kids play around and I could see this happening if the kid on the bottom kicked upward and hit the rail.
Your Surface Mount Bed Rail Brackets listing (Item #: 38892) says they're made out of zinc. Are you sure they are not zinc plated steel? Zinc is not very strong and everyone attests to these being quite strong. (You should be able to test it with a magnet.)
Jeff Condit J on Sep 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Just used these to put together a twin set for my daugter. Worked great and have held strong. I’m not worried about the strength of the metal. What has me more nervous is the size of the screw I used for the bed rail. It’s a 1X6 aka 3/4X5-1/2. The screws for that are 1/2 inch but it’s held great so far.
My husband is making a steel bed and would like to weld these brackets #38892. Can they be welded?
E H on Jul 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have used these mounts as screw on mount for a pair of bed I built from Colorado Spruce. As a mechanical engineer, I know they are made from mild steel. If the bed in question is made from steel, great they would be great. Plug weld to locate using the screw holes then do a bead on each side to make very secure. Wire brush, clean with a flux and weld is all OK. One concern These mounts are not hardened. They will bend is stressed when moving on carpeted floors.
Difference between 5" surface mounts and these? I love the 5" ones but you have to be very precise when attaching them. Are these other surface mounts a little easier to work with?
Charchar on Apr 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: These aren't difficult to use.. I had an easy time when I cut our bed rails down from a Cal King to a King. Measured mounting height consistently across all 4 sides/posts and came out level. They slip together and hold very tightly. Makes it easy to take apart if needed.
