Teak tends toward golden to medium brown and darkens with age. The grain is straight to wavy and the wood has a high natural oil content. Highly decay resistant. Teak turns beautifully, but due to its high silica content, it can have a blunting effect on tools. Glues and finishes nicely, though wiping with a solvent prior to gluing or finishing will aid adhesion.
