Clamping miters couldn't get much easier than with the Miter Clip. Just position the Miter Clip and squeeze-the reverse cam mechanism applies pressure and holds the miter clamp firmly shut, while the notch keeps the tips of the miters neatly aligned. Once clamped, you can also rotate the clamp handle up and out of the way, providing access so you can nail the miter and move on to the next corner. The metal spurs hold the wood firmly and allow the clamp to be rotated, while leaving minimal marks. Made in the USA.

Features:
  • Features patented I-beam construction and reverse cam action
  • Provides even pressure on the joint and is capable of large miter applications
  • Stays open effortlessly, stays closed once clamped
  • Durable polycarbonate and metal construction

Trim Clip Miter Clip
Simple solution to a timeless problem. Yes they leave a small pin prick where the jaws engage the material, but quite minor. A small touch-up with color putty is all that is required. About the same as touch-up for a micro pin nailer hole.

REVIEW
I am a second generation woodworker/carpenter and don't know why I never thought of a tool like this before. It was a real time saver and facilitated ease of installation and quality on external corners on a recent over-sized base-board job! Thank you Rockler! :{ )

Trim Clip Miter Clip
I use it for picture frames. I was amazed how well it worked and the surprising thing is the pressure it holds the joint at is perfect. Makes it very easy to line up my 45 degree miters without squeezing one side above the other.

Good for small projects.
Good for small material. It can't hold anything bigger then 4" wide. Sometimes hard to center.

The clamp does in fact work...
The clamp does in fact work well with flat frames, however I wanted to use it for crown moulding and was unsuccesful. Additionally, when the clamp is fully open, I could not operate it with only one hand....my hand spreds over 8 in. thumb to little finger. So I returned it. Kuddos to Rockler, no problems with the return and the refund was quickly posted with my bank.

Might work nice...
Maybe a picture frame is suitable for this device, but the jaws do not adjust to work on smaller pieces of molding.

After reading the description i see that there are marks produced on the frame. Is there an attachment to cover the points so as not to leave a mark?
Bruce C on Feb 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No it will leave a pin hole. Can not cover or clamp will slide off. Covers are for storage. but clamps extremely well if looking for Miter clamp Pony makes some good ones but limited to stock size. I do a lot of miters frames larger than then 5" rails. Clamp works well for glueing and nailing.
Do the points make a mark on the side of the frame?
Bruce C on Feb 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they do leave a very tiny "pin hole" mark which can be easily masked. Problem is there are situations where there is no other easy way to clamp corners particularly on large projects. John
