Two Cherries Spindle Gouges are crafted from top-quality high speed steel for optimal cutting performance when turning on the lathe. Each turning tool is fitted with a sturdy hornbeam handle that's 9-3/8'' long for leverage and stability. The blades are carefully forged and heat-treated in a salt immersion bath for a Rockwell Hardness of 61C. Due to the hardness, sharpening may take an extra few minutes, but the tool will hold an edge significantly longer than just about any other brand on the market. Made in Germany in a family run factory that's been producing quality woodworking tools since 1858.
