Veneer review
When I received my veneer pack I was really stoked, so many different types of wood. Really cool
These are beauties! I had an idea to cut squares out of the veneer. glue lam, then made rings.
These are just the standard veneer rings with a ring core.

This appears to be a better value than others I have looked at. Your measurements are longer, wider and thicker over the others. Also your price is less.

My husband and an old friend of ours both recently got into woodworking and I saw your product on a YouTube show called Make Something that I watched with my husband. He drooled over the product and said that he sees your products a lot on the shows he watches online. He's going to be really excited to get a pack of those vaneers. ;) Thanks for making Christmas shopping a bit easier this year!

I'm looking to make wood veneer gift bows to put on top of gift boxes I made, are they thin enough to bend into a bow design?
Shayla on Oct 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It will crack if try to bend it too much. However, if you soak the veneer in warm to hot water (almost boiling) for about 30-45 minutes it becomes more pliable. You can then take that veneer right out of the water and immediately bend it around a form. Tape it in place and once it's completely dry a few hours later, you can then glue it to keep its shape. I hope this helps! This is the veneer and process that I use to make bentwood rings.
What is the best glue to use?
Raymond A on Jan 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use liquid hide glue for all my veneer Work nice thing it is reversible
Are the sheets wood only or are they backed?
Frank C on Apr 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are all wood only. No backing to any of the sheets I got in my pack.
Is each piece of veneer labeled with the corresponding wood specie?
Peter P on Apr 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it is not. I wish it was although you can buy an identification pack. I have not done that but maybe I will.
Do these come raw/presanded and ready for stain?
Shara R on Oct 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They come semi raw. Varies from species to species but they feel sanded to about 180 grit.
could I use layers to make grips for my revolver?
Gokester on Jul 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not. You could cut them to size and laminate the sheets together. They are raw veneers so drying them all clamped between a couple of boards should do the trick, then shape to fit your hand.
Are these easy to cut with regular scissors?
Justine S on Mar 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If you use scissors, some of the breeds will cut easily whereas others may split and break apart as you cut them. I would recommend using an exacto knife and ruler. I haven't had any issues with the knife
If I were going to try my hand at wood rings with inlay would this be appropriate material to purchase for inlay work and if so what other tools might I require? I'm thinking jewelry or band for my boyfriend and my engagement.
Jenny on Aug 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Working with inlays is beyond my pay-grade. Having said that, the woods are beautiful, and, as the description says, they are "Ideal for inlays…and small veneering projects." So if your carpentry skills are up to the job, I would seriously consider these.
is there more than one sheet for each wood specie included in this pack?
Michael O on Nov 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Not really...I think there were 2 extra pieces in the pack. But there are so many and such a variety ...it's a great deal!
can l brand them, with my business logo?
S. M on Mar 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Probably--I've never done that specifically. I have burned edges in marquetry for a depth look. You'll have to try it and see--good luck.
I'm having a hard time imagining the thickness. Will these sheets hold up to some sanding?
Paul K on Dec 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You can sand these veneers a lot more than you would think. HOWEVER, tilt your orbital sander a little too much or hit the edge wrong and you will be through the veneer. Some people belt sand their veneered work; I'm too chicken for that.
I have a piece of antique french furniture that has extensive damage to different portions of its veneer. How can I patch the veneer so the table looks decent again?
Gerry R on Oct 30, 2017
Also, if I were going to use this for bent wood rings is it possible to cut design and glue it together before bending or would I bebbest to bend one piece of veneer as the ring and then design on top of that with a second layer of veneer glued to the first bent layer?
