Rating:

Highly trusted by boat-builders, WEST SYSTEM Epoxy is ideal for use as an ultra-tough waterproof coating, a high-strength, gap-filling adhesive or an easily sanded surface filler. The Resin works in conjunction with a variety of WEST SYSTEM Hardeners, Fillers and Pumps for a wide range of applications.

Combined with 205 Fast, 206 Slow and 209 Extra-Slow Hardeners, the cure time of 105 can be fine-tuned and adjusted for a wide range of temperatures. For coating and roller applications, it can be combined with 207 Coating Hardener, which provides excellent thin-film characteristics to flow out and self-level without "fisheyeing." Cures clear to light amber, so you can achieve a natural wood finish when coating with varnish.

Hardener
Slow hardener. It worked as I was hoping for the project on which I used it. I was satisfied with this product.

Use the pumps as they measure the hardener for proper mixing.

Good Results
Used with the appropriate resin, produced excellent filler for the wood being repaired. The cure rate allows time for penetration of most all voids.

West System Hardener easy to use
The hardener I used was the 206 which was easy to mix with
the resin and gave me plenty of time to apply the epoxy to small cracks that I had in a wood project. The epoxy easily flows into
small cracks and I had plenty of time to allow the epoxy to flow into the crack and then add more.

Love Ir!
The finish was beautiful. I had some bubbles, but I am sure I just need to learn a little more. This was my first project with West System but won't be my last.

What is the smallest quanity I can get epoxie and hardner in

How to find mix ratios for epoxy/hardeners?
A shopper on May 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have not used WEST SYSTEMS yet. I just got off the "West System Epoxies website my self but generally it is 4 to 5 parts resin and one part hardener. Mix a very small batch and work with it first. I have used other specialty epoxy systems before though. JG (an old Shop Teacher)
Would this product be good to use as a coating for a kitchen table?
Jonathan C on Aug 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't think I would use it for a finish on a kitchen table - it is pretty messy and a lot of fumes. I used it for an out door project where I didn't really care about the look of the finish as much as I did weather protection. While I am sure you cold work with it to get a reasonable finish, a poly would be a better way to go in my opinion.
What is shelf life of the resin and hardner once it is open?
Earl A on Feb 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Long time like several years at least with the lids on tightly. I have about 1/4 container of each left now several years old. I am A Woodturner and use it to fill large voids in natural tree wood as desired. You are welcome. JG
Will the mini pumps work with the quart / pint quantities or are they for the larger gallon / quart sizes only? The pumps sound like a great option but I don't know if my potential use will justify the larger quantities.
Linn M on Nov 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They will work with the smaller size containers. Just cut down the pick up tube.
What is the best filler for large holes in a wood table? Like in redwood table.
David G on Dec 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Use West System micro ballons additive to thicken up epoxy to fill larger voids - saves epoxy (which is expensive). West System 406 colloidal sliica filler is great.
I have three antique 120 liter white oak wine barrels (circa 1929) badly weathered, especially at the ends where some wood has been lost. I wish to prevent further lost. Which epoxy is best for penetration ? Does it harden clear?

Q. 2- I have a 6 inch long hairline crack in my 40-year old CORIAN sink I wish to repair it with an epoxy that cures white or clear and will remain such with age, Your recommendation please.
