These walnut plywood panels offer excellent strength, dimensional stability, and screw holding ability. Ideal for projects where shrinking, warping, swelling, or splitting are a concern. All are high quality A2 grade precut plywood panels with both faces in walnut. All panels measure 24"W x 48"L, and are available in 1/4" and 3/4" nominal thicknesses.

Features:
  • Excellent strength and dimensional stability
  • Ideal when you want to minimize shrinking, warping, swelling, or splitting
  • Cross bands are made of Lauan veneer
  • Great screw, nail, glue and staple holding ability on the face; mechanical fasteners do not hold as well on the butt edges and ends
  • Use for wall coverings, drawer sides and bottoms, and a wide variety of case goods such as desks, C13kitchen cabinets, fixtures, and fine furniture
  • Sanded first with a 120 grit belt and then following with a 150 grit belt which eliminates burnishing and preps the surface for finishing
  • There is an additional $10.00 shipping charge per piece for this item.

Plywood came on time and was undamaged
Plywood arrived undamaged. While the veneer is thin, it was fully functional for making additional shelves for some walnut bookcases.

Happy man
The walnut plywood is FANTASTIC! I used it to top a kitchen desk. With all our cabinets and the base of the desk painted white, the dark, rich, and beautiful walnut, makes the kids then pop. Great product! I will be ordering a half dozen very soon. I'm not sure what I'm going to build yet, but I NEED, and WANT more of this beautiful plywood.

Does the grain run across the 48" or 24" dimension?
Brad R on Dec 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The grain runs in the long 48" direction. Also the photo of the grain is fairly accurate as it shows some lighter areas. Some selective color adjustment might be needed if using for a table top, for example.
how many plies?
Wayne S on May 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 3/4 inch has 5 inside plies plus the very thin walnut on both the outsides. The walnut cannot be sanded very much as it is thin. I glued two sheets together to make 1 1/2 inch. shelves. Glue the warped sides the opposite way and the result is a straight and strong shelf! This plywood is better than HD's as the ply just under the walnut seems solid, no gaps or openings. (I would pay more for furniture grade 7+ ply or lumber core plywood, but I do not know where to buy that kind}
I wanted to use this as a table top (want to replace the glass on my coffee table) Is this stained and finished? Easy to clean?
melissa D on Aug 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is raw unfinished plywood with very thin walnut on both sides, as pictured, the wood layers show on the ends. For a table top the ends would have to be smoothed, varnished, then lightly stained and varnished again, or even covered with walnut glued on, the whole panel lightly sanded and finished starting with something like a wipe on clear varnish and maybe later in the finishing process with a very little wipe on stain in certain areas carefully blended in if some grain is too light. With enough time and tools and maybe gluing two panels together to make a 1 1/2" top with the warped parts opposite to make a flat surface, (which is what I did) the result can look very professional.
I think I saw some prefinished pressed wood 2' by 4' panels 3/4" thick with a walnut plastic coating at Menards, not very expensive, under $20.00. But then the ends would still have to be finished if cut, and the plastic would tear a little from the saw. Check IKEA for a new coffee table also, as all the parts and finishing can easily exceed $100.00 plus all your labor and mess.
IS THE 1/4 INCH WALNUT PLYWOOD WALNUT ON BOTH SIDES ?
DANE B on Apr 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The walnut outer surface is a thin verner on both sides with common wood material inbetween.
Is this solid walnut wood or a walnut material color like fermica pressed on?
Isaac on Jul 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No it is actual solid walnut veneer on both sides.
can you do 3 feet by 8?
Jonathan B on Sep 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know why this question was sent on to me. They only sell 2 x 4 sheets, which is what I bought. Btw, they were great and ready for staining.
How thick are the faces on the 3/4" board?
Paul N on Mar 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you are asking how thick the walnut veneer is, all I can say is that I lightly sanded it (it really did not need much as it came very smooth) and had no problem with sanding through the veneer. If you are asking how thick it is over-all then it's just like all other plywood grades in that it measures less then 3/4. I hope this answers your question and good luck with your project.
Can I laser ingrave into cabinet grade walnut plywood ???
George W on Oct 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Laser engraving is fine and looks amazing, but be careful if you try to cut through this material using a laser cutter. I was trying to make box joints using a laser cutter and this material burnt extremely easily and it started to burn through some of the fingers I made. Just be super mindful of your power settings with this material. The birch is much more forgiving.

How heavy is the 3/4?
James P on Mar 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: While it was not put on a scale, it is about the same as any 3/4 inch plywood. The very thin walnut on each side does not add any weight. For a desk top two sheets were glued together with the warped sides opposite, giving a very solid and flat top. I saw no gaps in the layer just under the thin plywood. A good value, much better than sheets from HD which did have gaps.
