3M Spray Mount

Item #
61242
Rating:
94% of 100

This repositionable spray adhesive is ideal for projects that require a wrinkle free temporary hold. Unlike other adhesives you can remove items you've attached and reuse the mounting surface if desired. This spray is ideal for use with templates and stencils. (Very handy for scroll saw work!) 3M's spray mount dries clear and doesn't bleed colors.

Works great. I am using to temporarily attach paper patterns to wood to aid in cutting out small parts as part of a project. Once I finish cutting. Paper is easily removed with Mineral spirits. After a little touch up sanding, good to go.

I've used this only once - to mount coarse sandpaper on push blocks for my jointer in place of the foam pads they come with. I then jointed a number of ash boards (very hard wood) and the sandpaper held perfectly.

I've tried other brands and found this brand easier to apply, have a better spray nozzle, and hold the paper on the wood while scroll sawing.

I want to stack 3 pcs of 1/4 wood together so I can gang cut parts on a scroll saw ?
Donald P on Sep 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: To stack wood for scroll saw work I use double sided tape since it leaves less residue and thin pieces don't break off when taking the stack apart. I use the spray mount to glue the pattern to the top of the stack, but I apply blue painters tape to the stack and then glue the pattern onto that as that leaves less glue residue to clean up also. The double sided tape holds the stack together for cutting and the glue holds the pattern to the tape on the stack securely enough to never move throughout the cutting process.
