This 5-pack of Monterillo rosewood pen blanks has been cut diagonally across the grain for added visual interest. The blanks are cut from a variety that features variegated chocolate stripes cutting through a canvas of creamy mocha. Despite its density, it is easily worked with sharp tools. Thanks to its non-porous closed grain, it takes an excellent natural polish. Native to South America, Monterillo rosewood can be found under a variety of names, including ''Pau Ferro,'' Bolivian rosewood and Jacaranda Pardo. Though not a true rosewood, it has rosewood's striking look and feel.
