I bought this scraper to help scrape the marine varnish off a refinishing project (a couple gates and garage door). The scraper is super-efficient and stays sharp. We were scraping the finish off of Western red cedar which is a very soft wood and it didn’t gouge the wood at all, just removed the finish I highly recommend them

Ergo Pocket scraper
I chose the Ergo Pocket scraper after discovering the 1" scraper I used while in the flooring trade was no longer available. Simply put, this is the best small scraper I have purchased. Use light pressure and it behaves like a wood plane with no tear out. Heavy pressure and it pulls paint off quickly and cleanly. The blade lasts a very long time compared to a steel blade, and you can rotate to 2 other faces simply by loosening a single screw. I recommend this for anyone needing a small scraper for projects.

I originally bought this scraper just to use on my wood carvings but I have found it is the handiest tool around. I clip it to my belt the moment I walk in the workshop. I ended up buying one for everyone in the workshop!
