Lovely piece of wood
This wood is lovely and finished. It was a little thick for my purposes - I would love to have a 1/4" and/or a 1/2" version available.

hard, dense, but easy to work
ordered piece to fabricate toy truck. Machined easily, glued nicely with Titebond III, and sanded to silky smoothness on face, edge, and end grain. Did not apply a finish, so cannot offer observation on that

Great quality bamboo
I had never used bamboo before. I am getting ready to place my third order. Boards are very flat and easy to work.
Shipments have arrived very quickly. My only wish would be to have more than just 8"X 30" boards. Slightly longer and slightly wider would be great!! I would recommend this lumber to anyone.

Good looking piece of bamboo!
I was a little hesitant to make this purchase, because of the price, so I would not build a furniture with them. But the piece I received was flawless! I'm not sure what it will become, but I have no doubt it will look great!

to make a cribbage board
William B on Nov 28, 2016
I bought it for the face plate on my boxing speed bag ceiling mount. Needed a hard surface to get better what they call rebound which is the leather bag bouncing off the wood faster. I shopped extensively for maple and oak but found the best fit of wood, price point and shipping charges here for my needs. I also am a huge fan of Paypal. Looking forward to it

Can this wood be used in the bathtub, as a tub organizer?
Beth W on Aug 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This wood is laminated together. Thine pieces glued together. I do not now if it is marine grade glue. Something that will last in contact with a lot of water. I builta jewelry case. Whatever the grade of glue you maybe can seal your finished product with a marine grade varnesh or epoxy and varnish. I used systems three epoxy and varnish on my strip canoe. Easy to work with if you plan your timing between steps. Not longer then 24 hours between coats. Hope your project goes smoothly and comes out to your liking.
Is this board equally as strong as 3/4" Bamboo Plywood ?
Anthony on Aug 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is probably stronger. I used it for a platform for a boxing speed bag. It is actually many thin but thick strips of wood glued together. The strips are about 1/4 inch wide and it isn't a full 3/4 thick it is something between 5/8 and 3/4. It's really nice wood. The color is very nice. I did not stain or coat it with anything. It has been about a year and a 1/2 now and it still looks like it just came out of the box. if you are going to use screws or glue get it right the first time. I would not recommend using nails
I was thinking of making a casual desk from this; would it be ideal?
Chris B on Sep 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't think the wood is thick enough for a desk and you would have to put together numerous pieces since they are only something like 8 by 30 something. You might have to put it on top of some other wood. I don't think I would go that route
How hard is bamboo compared to walnut?
A shopper on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's very hard, compared to black walnut, but not as hard as brazilian walnut. Remember one thing about bamboo though; this stuff is basically like a grass - it's very fibrous and it has a very notable tendency to splinter along its grain when cutting or routing.
Is this bamboo smooth, finished, sealed?
Melanie B on Aug 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This bamboo is definitely smooth and finished on all 6 sides. I don’t believe it is sealed, but the natural hard, smooth bamboo surface makes it look as though it had a sealer on it.
Does it come 12" wide?
Marith H on Sep 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The piece I ordered was about 9" wide with good straight square edges that would lend itself to edge gluing. It machined nicely and was easy to glue face to face. Sands easily to silky smoothness. Harder and denser than you might expect. I left my project raw, so cannot offer info on finishing

Jan E on Jan 20, 2019

What should I use to seal it when using it as a cutting board?
Craig D on Feb 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have a couple of good chopping blocks (one is bamboo) and I do not seal them. I use Boos Block Mystery Oil. Find it on Ebay. Warm it up in some hot water first and be liberal-great stuff. A Gray

Can this bamboo be resawn and run through a thichness planer?
Keith on Jan 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the bamboo can be resawn. I would think you could run it through a planer,I have not done this but I have done router shaping and heavy sanding with good results. If your planer blades are in good shape I think you will be ok.

Can bamboo be stained? I'm thinking of cherry.
Art H on Feb 7, 2018
I recently purchased a few utensil stackable boxes made from bamboo. The thickness of the material is not more than 1/4" making it ideal for a lightweight product. Can I purchase this thickness of bamboo in sheets similar to above dimensions (eg. 3/4" x 8" x 30")?
