Bartender's Bottle Opener Hardware Kit

Item #
55391
Rating:
90% of 100

The slim profile of our Bartender's Bottle Opener makes a great canvas for showing off thin pieces of figured scrap wood. Standard sized knife scales will also work well for handles. Once finished, you'll have an elegant bottle opener that slips neatly into your pocket when not in use. Though you can use the hole on the opposite end for hanging the bottle opener, it's actually expressly designed so you can spin it on your finger, a critical feature for the aspiring home bartender. Machined from food-grade 14 gauge stainless steel, and pre-drilled to accept pins cut from the included stainless rod.

(1) Stainless Steel Bartender's Bottle Opener Tang
(1) 1/8'' Diameter Stainless Steel Rod

Artisan cap popper
Winemakers love stainless steel...and beer, too. This kit really hit the spot. I made 3 after the first one, a perfect way to display exotic woods in the frame of mind (after shutting down the shop) when appreciation takes added dimensions.

This is a good product for the price. To the guy that cut the end off, this is a bartenders opener, it's made to spin on your finger, why didn't you buy one with a smallerer hole if you wanted to hang it on a string? To the guy with the different pin metal ideas, try copper wire instead, it's soft and works easy and you can get in just about the right size.

Good opener. .
I like the opener. . I modified it by cutting off rear loop and rounding the end. . While fitting the scales I drilled a 1/4"hole through the back end, put 1/4" piece of copper tubing through the end for a leather lace to hang it by..overall I like it.. well built..

Where are the handle templates?
HAbitat on Nov 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If you download the instructions on the item description page it should be in there. Honestly you shouldn't need a template though. Just trace the outer edge of the opener and sand off the excess after you mount it.
The instructions say to start with scales that are at least 6"x2", I haven't found knife scales on Rockler more than 5"x1 1/2" is there a diagram showing actual size of opener?
D T on Jul 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 7x1.625 is the entire length/width. I didn't cover the entire opener with wood; didn't use knife scales, rather a piece of lumber.
