Anyone who has ever applied a stain to wood needs some lint free rags. Get some of this for the times that you run out. Also good for straining finishes.Don't forget to soak in water after using with oil base stains or mineral spirits. Sometimes I just set them on fire and burn them when done. Spontaineous combustion does happen.

Watched a video on YouTube by the makers of Tried & True. I built a farmtable for my daughter and wanted to finish it old-style and food safe. So I'm using the Danish oil first, then the Tried & True Original Wood Finish. They applied everything using cheesecloth.

Can I use This to apply shellac?
stephen f on Mar 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: To initially prepare CHEESECLOTH tuck the ends up inside itself until there is a smooth surface on the face of the cloth. Your cloth should be wet but not dripping. As you apply SHELLAC on your piece, you'll begin to notice how wet your cloth needs to be to go from end to end in ONE wipe.
can cheesecloth be used to filter air?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: yes but the fabric is too course to be effective. it depends on how fine of particles you want to trap.
