I-Semble 3-Rod Hairpin Legs, 4-Pack, Black

Sleek, classic design with a third support rod for more rigidity on heavier applications like desks and dining tables.

Item #
96% of 100

Fabricated from thicker 1/2'' steel rod, and featuring a third support stem, these 3-Rod Hairpin Legs are substantially more sturdy than the standard variety. The increased rigidity makes them ideal for use on larger projects where standard legs would flex too much. At 28'' high, they are perfectly sized for dining tables and desks, and also work for large occasional tables. In addition to dining tables and desks, 28" Hairpin Legs are ideal for buffets, entry tables and sofa tables. They retain a simple, airy hairpin leg design that has been a staple of mid-century modern furniture for decades, and is enjoying a resurgence today. Sold in sets of four.

Exactly as advertised
Legs came with mounting screws, they are sturdy on my 3'x7' live edge alder desk. The only small complaint would be they could have used recyclable packing material instead of styrofoam wrap. Overall, very pleased.

Table Legs
Used on a heavy 42X90 inch table, solid and no doubt will hold the table and all weight on the table. No lateral movement in table.

I wanted to purchase steel and not a composite. I also wanted to purchase from a U.S.A. company with a solid reputation. I greatly appreciated the feedback and rating section. I am modernizing a 1940's U.S. Army conference table and the dimensions are the same as the dimensions described in the response section. Very comforting.

I'm using these for a desk. I bought these before: they are quite heavy and sturdy. I made a top using only 1-by mahogany for the top. It's plenty rigid with the strong legs.

Will they scratch a wood floor?
drillbit007 on Dec 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are heavy gauge steel/metal. Although the edges are a smooth rounded 'U shape' they would scratch a floor if dragged across like any other metal object on a wood floor.
Do you make the 3-rods in 16" coffee table height?
Patti on Apr 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They seem to make the 3-rod legs only in the longer length. I wish they did offer them also in the 16" length, not because the extra rod is needed for strength, but just because I think the design is more appealing.
What is the maximum weight they will support?
Nancy F on Aug 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My guestimate suggests that four hairpin legs can easily support 200 lbs.
Would the coated black or steel hairpin legs do well if they were painted? I love these but would love color as well. Is there such thing as a metal paint? Or color options?
Jodi L on Sep 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes these can be painted
How long are the legs?
John R on Mar 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: They are 28 inches high and are a perfect fit for table or desk application. I loved them. Perfect fit for my project.
Do they come with rubber feet like the standard hairpin legs?
Darrell on Nov 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, they do not have feet
Will these resist the weather if used for an outside table?
Michael S on Dec 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not as they come from Rockler; the feet would undoubtedly start to rust after the first rain. If you sprayed them will a couple of coats of Rustoleum I'll bet you could make them much more weatherproof, though.
