Uh....Good.....
I love the quality of this caliper for a great price. It's good for making measurement where dead accuracy isn't very important. I've been using a digital unit, and I'm finding it kinda hard to get used to this one. This is only good to the 8th of an inch so......I'll find lots of use for it though.

Accuracy only .01
Contrary to Rockler's note this caliper is only accurate to .01 - it says so right on the box. It is pretty good at reading to two decimal places if that is what you want. If you want resolution to a thousandth, you'll need something else. Also why is Rockler showing the Mitutoyo case, you know, with the big "M" on it? That is not the case that the iGaging caliper comes in.

I have a digital caliper that I just don't really trust. It's good for getting a general idea, but for final measurements, I'd much rather have the dial.

I must need training in using this caliper. I do not understand how to read the wheel. I see the markings on the slide for tenth of an inch but do not see how to read fractions. Can you help me?

BEST ANSWER: each hash line on the white part of the dial is 1/64". 4 lines on the dial = 1/16".
If you look on the bottom part of the slide, you will see this is calibrated by the eighths of an inch.
