Ordered so I could make a custom insert for a lock miter bit. Worked just great.
Also worked great for a 1/2" bit where I wanted no shift in the depth of cut from end to end.

The perfect plate for one to use . The user can make any size hole in the plate. Talk about zero clearance, here it is, no problem. One could use more plates for each individual uses.

BEST ANSWER: They are made of durable plastic, and I use a hole saw at slow speed in my drill press to make my custom holes.
