Rockler Phenolic Router Plates

An excellent lower-cost router plate with a low-friction surface that won't warp, dent, scratch or delaminate.
Item #
GRP40106
Rating:
78% of 100

Router table insert plates make it easy to lift your router out and set it on the table for comfortable bit changes, height adjustments, maintenance and even to use your router free hand or with a straight edge guide. They save you from a lot of backaches, squinting and bumps on the back of the head from stooping under the table. These router plates are made of 3/8'' solid phenolic, which has naturally low-friction for easy sliding. In addition, phenolic is very stable and extremely durable. At 8-1/4'' x 11-3/4'', they fit both our current tables and most of our old tables, and work equally as well with shop-made router tables.

Which Router Plate Do I Need?
To choose a pre-drilled plate, find your router below.

Router Plate A:
  • Bosch MRC23 Series, 1617-1618

  • Hitachi M12VC (fixed and kit)
  • Makita 1100
  • Milwaukee 5615-5624
  • Porter-Cable 690
  • Porter-Cable 890
  • Porter-Cable 7529
  • Porter-Cable 97529
  • Porter-Cable 8529
  • Ridgid 2930 Combo Kit

Note: Current models of the Porter-Cable 892 require at least two screws to be 1/2" long versus 5/8".

Router Plate B:
  • Craftsman Standard
  • DeWalt DW621
  • DeWalt DW621K
  • Freud FT 1700E
  • Freud 1702VCEK

Router Plate C:
  • Milwaukee 5625-20
  • Porter-Cable 7518
  • Porter-Cable 7519
  • Porter-Cable 7538
  • Porter-Cable 7539
  • Triton TRA001
  • Triton MOF001

Router Plate D:
  • Bosch 1619-1619EV

Husky Router Table
I needed the non-drilled plate to mount an RE600 Ryobi router to the Husky Router table sold by HD. The plate fits well although I did need to sand the plate a bit to get it to fit. But it's the right thickness, much stouter than the Husky plate and even the holes to fasten the plate to the table line up perfectly.

If wondering about the two different insert sizes on the non-drilled plate, it depends on the exact location of the mounting holes on your router. I thought my big Ryobi router would need the bigger mounting insert. But when I drilled the holes in the plate, I cut into the edge of the insert. I should've gone with the smaller insert.

Excellent router accessory.
This is one of Rockler's greatest bargains. You may not realize you need one, but the more you use your router, the more you will understand its importance.

easy installation
I was able to recess this into the 3/4" plywood top of my workbench pretty easily. I don't have any leveling screws or shims, it just fits perfectly flush.

I was worried about attaching it to the base of my Bosch router, because the plate didn't come with any screws and the screws on the router's sub-base were too short. But I checked the box my router came in, and it actually had all the screws I needed.

Excellent Product
Rather than buying a commercially built table, I decided to build a custom table of my own using the Rockler router plate - the router table couldn't have come out better and the Rockler plate was perfect. The plate fit my Triton router exactly without modification and has performed flawlessly. Without question, I would recommend this product to anyone considering building their own table. Great product, quick shipping, excellent service.

will any of the plates fit a Ryobi ?
Edward M on Jun 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We have a standard non drilled and a large non drilled that would work. You will just have to drill out the mounting holes for your particular router.
Do the plates include pre-drilled holes for routers with built-in lift mechanisms? For example, I have a Triton and looks like I need Plate C, but will I need to then drill my own hole to use the above the table height adjustment?
A shopper on Apr 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes you will need to drill a hole in the plate to accommodate the Triton height adjustment
Does "Phenolic Router Plate A" include a hole that lines up with the location of the hex key on the "Bosch RA1165 Under-Table Router Base"?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The two pre-drilled holes DO NOT line up with adjusting hex key on the RA1165 base or the standard RA1161 base which is identical and comes standard with the Bosch 1617/1618 routers. There is no capability to lock/unlock the motor clamp from above the table. There is no hole in the router base to access the clamp, and there is no way to operate the clamp with a hex key. The good news, however, is that the proper location for the adjusting hole is equidistant between the two existing holes, and is very easy to drill yourself.
I have an older CMT router table top cut out the same demensions as the phenolic plates sold by rockler 8.25 x 11.75 x 3/8 inch . Question are the corners radiused the same?

BEST ANSWER: Sorry, I have no idea if the radius would be the same.

I have a Chicago Plunge Router - 1 3/4 HP - Single Phase 20,000 RPM. Is there a router table insert plate that will accommodate this manufacturer?
James N on Aug 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You'll want to use the 57293 non-drilled plate for this router. This will let you drill the mounting holes in the plate to match the router.
Which plate fits Ridged R2901 router?
Stan F on Jan 29, 2018
I have a Rockler router table with i believe the phenolic throat plate. I have a set of router bits that range from 3.5 to 1.25 inches in diameter. The throat plate that is now on the table will not accomodate the larger bit that i want to install. I have a new Porter Cable router. What do I do?
Susan C on Feb 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You can order different size inserts that go into the phenolic plate. One has up to a 2.5" hole (http://http://www.rockler.com/insert-with-2-1-2-opening-for-standard-plates). There are also phenolic blanks that you can order online and you can cut your own holes for router mounting and custom bit hole - I don't know if Rockler has one or not. Another option, if this bit is for a special project/not for regular use, would be to make a temporary plate out of 3/8" MDF. You may have to ship the MDF a little.
I have a robin #R163 router what plate would I need to purchase?
Joseph C on Apr 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Purchase the blank (no pre-drilled holes) router plate and drill and countersink your own holes. In my opinion this is always the best option so you know exactly where to place the mounting screws.

I have a Milwaukee 361 will any of the predrilled plates work?
R G on Jul 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: To answer your question, I'm not sure. However on the Rockler router plate page a series of downloads that specify several router mounting dimensions can be found. I had to use these to determine the plate I needed. They may not show your exact model but you may be able to find a match. If not, then obviously you'll need to get a blank plate and drill it accordingly.
My Porter Cable router model is 9690. Will this work with the A series plate?
Brian G on Apr 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a Porter Cable 895KIT series which was specifically listed as one that it fits. Go to the listing for the insert listing on the Rockler page Go to the bottom of the page and under the Technical Downloads section there is a list of the plates and a PDF drawing that shows the spacing of the mounting holes. Match up the one for your router and order it.
Hope this helps
Mike
In the hardware package there are 3 short mounting screws, 3 long mounting screws, 2 Large Plate fastener Screws and a large cynlinder head screw. What is that last screw used for?
Michael C on Jul 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I believe that you are referring to the fulcrum pin. This pin screws into the threaded hole next to the black insert ring and provides a starting point for freehand routing.

I have a Skil 1827. What phenolic router plate will work?
Adam C on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: As you can see there are a number of different plates. Check your mounting pattern against the ones listed (even if it is a different company) for each plate to find a match. I had an old Craftman router and bought the plate that was on clearance sale that did not fit and drilled my own holes.
