iVac Pro Tool Plus Wireless Dust Collection Controller System
iVac Pro Tool Plus Wireless Dust Collection Controller System

The iVac Pro system eliminates the inconvenience of having to walk across the shop to turn on your dust collection system before operating a power tool. It also eliminates the chance that you will simply forgo the dust collector to save a bit of time. Simply turn on your power tool, and the Pro Tool Plus sends a wireless signal up to 40' to the Pro Switch (sold separately), which then powers up your dust collection system. Turn off your power tool, and the dust collector powers down. You can even set your Pro Switch to run a little longer than your tool to allow for dust clearance.

Here's how it works: The Pro Tool Plus is physically secured to the power cord of your power tool and determines whether the tool is on or off by sensing the magnetic field surrounding the cord. (It will work with both 115v and 240v tools.) Your dust collection system plugs into a Pro Switch (sold separately) that matches the dust collector's voltage (either 115v or 240v). In Auto Mode, when the power tool is turned on, the Pro Tool Plus transmits a digital wireless signal to the Pro Switch, instructing it to turn on and supply power to the dust collector. You also can add iVac Pro 4" Blast Gates, which also receive the digital signal from the Pro Tool Plus and open when the tool is activated.

You can install a Pro Tool Plus to every tool that you want to have this capability. One Pro Switch can accommodate up to eight Pro Tool Plus transmitter units, as long as they are within the 40' radio frequency range. Frequencies are set via switches on the Pro Tool Plus and Pro Switch; no computer is required to set up the system.

Features:
  • Automatically turns your dust collection system on or off
  • Wirelessly connect up to eight iVac Pro Tool Plus units (each sold separately) to an iVac Pro Switch for multi-tool coverage
  • Run two or more power tools at the same time without interference (turning off one tool won't turn your dust collection system off if another tool is still running)
  • Turn on delay helps avoid power surges from dust collector and power tool turning on at the same time
  • Three-position mode switch: Auto/Off/On
  • 40' line-of-sight range between the iVac Pro Switch and iVac Pro Tool Plus
  • IVac Pro System Boxes are built to handle the amperage advertised, however, both the UL (American) and CSA (Canadian) safety approval agencies require the boxes to be labeled at 80% of their actual amperage capacity due to the fact that the units have an attached power supply cord. Example - The 115 Volt / 20 Amp box is labeled as only 16 amps, however the box will actually continuously handle 20 amp AC mains.

IVAC Pro switch & Tool Plus
The product worked great with no issues. It is set up between my shop in my home with the vacuum system in the garage 35 ft. away. No transmission issue. The instructions were very detailed and clear. I would recommend this product even if it was made in China.

Robust and Simple
Really, they perform better than indicated in the cut sheets. The addressing is simple enough, and the sensor adjust feature is really great. You can tell this was designed by an engineer though because of the instructions. The crucial bit regarding order of operations and steps setting the sensor adjustments, which is KEY to making these run well seems a bit buried, and is difficult to read. If ever there was a place for bullet points, this would be it.

Wireless Controller works well
.

iVac Pro = perfect fit

I purchased 12 sets of the iVac pro blast gates along with enough wireless controllers for each for a commercial project. The gates worked perfectly for our needs and the client is very happy.

I will definitely be looking at these again the next time I have a need. Shipping was fast and pricing good. I have absolutely nothing to point out as a downside.

I have a 220 table saw and a 110 dust collection. Will this work?
A shopper on Aug 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The controller is mounted to the tool's power cord and senses magnetically if the tool is on. The controller then signals the iVac switch to turn on the dust control unit. Since the control only senses the tool cord's magnetic state, the voltage doesn't matter. There is either magnetism in the cord or not.
So will this device turn on the dust collector if the lathe is in standby? I have a Nova 2024 and it is "ON" most of the time, but not necessarily running - does this mean that the dust collector will be running at all times? Thank you - I understand that that I will need the Pro Switch for it to work.
Skyegod on Oct 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Pro Switch is attached to the power cable of the tool and detects current flow to trigger. I have it on a number of tools including a Dewalt chop saw. The saw has a light on it that is always on when the power is on. The switch likely detects the current but does not turn on the dust collection system unless I actually use the saw and the current surpasses a threshold. So I think the answer to your question is no, the dust collector is not on always unless there is a load. In addition, you can adjust the sensitivity of the switch if is it in close proximity to the power cables of other tools. Hope this helps.
I have 8 different tools, all 110 v., connected to my dust collector, what all do I need to hook up everything to the iVac system? I don't have any automatic system on it now. Do I need a switch on each machine or what all do I need?

BEST ANSWER: You need one Pro Switch to which your dust collector is plugged into. Then you need one Pro Tool Plus for each tool. You plug the tool into this device. I would strongly recommend that you consider getting the wireless gates for those tools that are used the most. This allows the dust gate to automatically open when you turn on the tool. Turning on the tool also automatically turns on the dust collector. You do not need the gates for the system to turn on the dust collector. I love this system. I don't know how I went for so many years without it.
So, you need a Pro Switch to physically turn the dust collector on?

In addition, you will need a Pro Tool for every machine you want hooked up to dust collection?

Is there a wireless remote available to turn on the dust collection when you want to hook a hose to suck up a pile of sawdust/chips?

BEST ANSWER: I use one pro switch on a heavy duty extension cord. I plug each tool into the extension cord as I use the too . The pro switch has a 3 position switch. On off and auto. Use the on position to sweep the floor.
I currently have the "Long Ranger" multi-switch system where each gate has a wired switch that turns on the dust collector when the gate is opened. If I replace some of the gates with the iVAC Pro 4" blast gate, the Tool Plus, and the Pro Switch, will the other gates still work?

BEST ANSWER: Not exactly clear what you mean but if you were trying to run these both off the same collector they may not work together because the ivac essentially relies on the collector to be switched on and controls the power outlet it is plugged into. Not really knowing how the long ranger works, perhaps you could use it with another tool unit so it would trigger the ivac switch. Talk to the guys at ivac, they should be able to help you integrate with your existing system.
will iVac Pro Switch work for low-voltage DC current tool? does a 24V DC line create enough electromagnetic field to trigger the iVac Pro sensor?
