This does a good job on my lathe, provided that it is positioned correctly.

Woodworking Experience:
Very Handy
I bought this while making a cabinet for my miter saw. Cheaper and smaller than the "Big Gulp" one. Worked great for my saw and I bought another to use on a benchtop for sanding and with my ridgid spindle/belt benchtop sander.

Great product.
This is just the right size to make custom dust collection box for a miter saw. Also inset one under my lathe that collects the chips!!!

Many uses!
I purchased this for my lathe. Built a pull-out drawer in my lathe cabinet for this hood. Works great! The hood has grates that keeps large items from accidentally falling in. Definitely worth the small cost! Reduced from 4" down to 2-1/2" hose to increase suction.

mini dust hood for drum sander
I have built my own drum sander using available evaporative cooler motor and sanding drums available on line. I needed some way to collect the sanding dust. the quick connect 90 fit the outlet on the hood perfectly allowing the duct system to fit along a wall. no problems.

Roger D on Jan 30, 2018
I can't tell from the single picture. Is the 4" hole in the center, or offset to one side, or toward the corner?
Chris S on Jun 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The outlet is pretty much centered top to bottom and side to side
what is the best way to use this for turning? Magnets? Making a dedicated stand?
Patrick S on Aug 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You could connect it to a roller stand or a stand that you build with the Rockler Universal Dust Port Bracket #31767
