Mini HotStamps for Woodburning Tool, Lowercase Letters

These 26 miniature lowercase letters can be used with your woodburning tool to brand or personalize just about anything: wood, paper, card stock, fabric, leather, gourds, nuts and more. Use the stamps to add your name, initials, or any number of unique words and phrases to your projects. The individual brass letters are designed to fit any Walnut Hollow woodburning tool, or any woodburning tool with an 8-32 threading. Simply screw the letter into the tool, allow it to heat up for a few minutes, then press gently to burn the letter into your project. The exact height and width of the mini characters will vary by letter, but they average about 1/4'' tall, as opposed to about 5/8'' tall for the standard height characters (#59173 and #55733, sold separately).

Tips for Best Results:

  • Practice on a scrap piece beforehand
  • Use a set of pliers to remove hot tips
  • Use fine graphite powder to prevent the tip from sticking in the tool
  • Brass is soft, especially when heated; do not bend the tips when screwing them in or out
  • Let the heat of the tool do the work; avoid using excessive pressure
  • Do not overtighten the tips; ''fingertight'' is plenty
  • Do not press at an angle, as this can bend the tip

Just what I needed
I was looking for a way to mark my woodcarving tools. I combined the numbers with a symbol to make it unique. Easy to use and clean. Great price!

The small size of the hot stamps is perfect for my project! They heat up faster than the larger fonts, so definitely practice.

Very handy lettering set to have because they are smaller in size than the usual woodburning Letters available. I have used these set to mark parts before assembly in woodworking, and to identify myself after the project was done. They work well on very small projects where my usual maker-stamp is too big, so I simply use my initials. Glad I found this set, the only thing nicer would be this size set with capital letters.

I'm going to use these letters to brand the bottom of the bowls I make. I also have a company that wants to buy branded pens from me so I'm hoping these will be small enough.

Will these lower case letters work personalizing wood pen bodies?

BEST ANSWER: Don't believe it will.
need circular stamp for printing name on bowls?
Roger C on Aug 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If your wondering about the curve of the bowl, these stamps will work just fine. I use them on the curved surfaces of dials. You just have to "roll" the dye from side to side and front to bottom to get all parts to contact. Hint! Practice first! The dye's work great. Learning how much pressure and heat to use takes a few tries. Good luck.
Can I use this on plastic knife handles?
Keren M on May 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I do not know with out trying, but I would be hesitant to use the hot stamps on plastic because I fear they would not melt evenly or quickly enough to leave a clean impression... I think you would create a messy blob on the knife handle. m mLike I said, I have not used them on plastic, so this is only my guess.
Are the letters deep so you don't burn to deep????
Judy S on Oct 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The letters are not very deep. You will want to be careful not to hold down too long or the boarder around the letters could burn onto your wood as well. A little practice will help.
