Inexpensive paste wax
This is a good value general purpose wax that goes on clear and leaves a nice, hard finish.

I have been taught that to...
I have been taught that to properly finish a project, after at least four or five coats of finish, either Arm-R-Seal or Polyurethane, rub it with 0000 steel wool. You rub out all runs and imperfections and take off all the shine, then you come in with Minwax, rubbed on with steel wool and buffed. The result is a satiny finish that is out of this world. It is soft, it is smooth, it has a nice satin finish, and does not even feel like wood. I love this product. It makes me look like a real craftsman.

I used it to even out a walnut box that I had used Danish Oil Dark Walnut on. The combination of the two really enhanced the box's look and felt really nice.

We bought a oak roll top...
We bought a oak roll top desk that has a darker finish. I applied the dark paste with a cheese cloth, waited 10 minutes and then buffed it off. I repeated this two times. Even on our new desk, this product has enhanced the color and finish while adding some protection against a coffee spill or wet glass. Using the cheese cloth method, this wax will go a long, long way since you don't need alot to get great results

Good, hard wax, and with the...
Good, hard wax, and with the "special dark" variety, my dark varnished wood floors keep their like-new appearance. The dark wax hides scratches and dings as well as protecting and adding just the right luster.

Equipment protection
This is the wax of choice I use for working surfaces on my stationary power tools to minimize corrosion. I also find it helps reduce friction between wood and metal working surfaces on projects I am fabricating.

Wax shouldn't be rock hard.
This stuff is murder to apply. Stiff as a board. Tried heating it up. Did't help. Would not recommend it.

Is this paste wax good for table saws, planes and other metal surfaces?

BEST ANSWER: Never tried it for that application but possibly not a bad idea. Interested to hear other responses.
Is this a good product for floors?
A shopper on Jul 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes
I have an old kitchen chair, light colored wood with thin patches of the old white paint throughout. I want to retain the 'greyish' antique look to the wood, so no shiny finish. Would a paste wax be appropriate? I would need to use something that does not add any color. Please advise, and thanks!
Millie H on Nov 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would use a satin poly instead. The past wax will darken slightly and depending on how much you "wax" or polish, it will get shiny.
Can I put paste wax on my hard wood floors? Parts of my hardwood floor lost it sheen.. thanks
Sheila Y on Jun 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't think it's designed for that; but it really can't do any harm. I use this wax on pencil holders and other small things that I make.
can you apply a second coat?
alice w on Dec 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes.
Can I use this as a one and only finish? On straight up wood that's old and never been treated with oil or poly of any kind?
Jacki T on Nov 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The question is "should you?"
Wax finish looks great at first but requires more routine maintenance to maintain the look.
Is this wax good on pine floors with scratches and nicks on them?
