Nagura Stone
It's nice to use the Nagura Stone to work up a slurry on the water stone ahead of sharpening.

Good shiro nagura
Works like any good shiro nagura, keeps the stone clean and does wonders for building up a slurry. I always recommend nagura stones.

can i use this with a shapton 5000 stone?
kohtachi on Jun 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Nagura stones are intended to be used on Japanese water stones to build a slurry. Shapton stones are ceramic and I don't think the Nagura stone would have the same effect.
Do you know the micron size of the nagura stone particles/slurry?
Michael T on Oct 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, Michael. I don't believe the company sent that question to me to answer. The question should have been sent to the manufacturer! Lee
