Well worth it
This Dado set did everything I asked of it. Not having tried any of the more expensive ones I can't imagine they can do any better job.

Nice dado set
First project was to build a good box to store it. Very nice dado, very bad cardboard box for storage. Probably could of got by with the 6" set. No regrets about the purchase, shipped same day, received it the day after it was ordered. Didn't know you shipped from 10 miles from my house.

It can cut grooves in 1/32" increments and finer with shims. The price is reasonable, too.

I've had a wobbler for many years, and decided to upgrade to a stacked set. Read everything I could find about stacked sets and main thing was to have as many teeth on the chippers as possible. The 8" Oshlun has 6 chipper teeth, 2-3 times more than other brands
James T on Nov 27, 2015
A combination of Oshlun reputation and price. The reviews looked good.

Does it come with any kind of storage case?
Turner on Jan 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My set came packed in a nice aluminum case with shaped foam insert that holds all the blades securely. Each blade is separated by an additional foam sheet. The shims are packed in a zip-lock bag. The whole set is packed very well IMO. I'm very pleased.
Do this 8" Oshlun stacked dado cut a flat bottom or does it have a glue grove in the bottom?
John p on Mar 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure what you mean by a "glue groove". If what you are asking is this: does this dado stack leave grooves in the bottom of the cut area or is it a smooth cut, I would say that it does a fairly good job. I have only used the stack 2 or 3 times since getting it and I had not negative issues with it. With most blades, including the Freud Dado stack which is probably one of the best after market dado sets out there, there might be some lines or a small amount of clean to do. But in any case, a good, sharp chisel will take care of that unless the dado cut is in plywood. That can get kind of dicey, but so far, I have had no negative issues with my Oshlun Dado stack.
is there an instruction sheet for the setup of blades? where can I get one?
Rakahrd on Nov 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is a chart included with the Dado that tells which blades to use for cutting dado's from 1/4" to 13/16". There are shims included to adjust width of cut to correctly size for any thickness you need. There are not instructions for these fine adjustments.
What are the shim thicknesses?
sswalker on Mar 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There are 8 pcs of shims with this set. 2 pcs. - 0.005" , 2 pcs. - 0.010" , 2 pcs. - 0.015" , 2 pcs. - 0.020" Hope this info is helpful to you, John P.
I have been using this Dado stack for about a year and just had the need to do a 1/4in cut. How do you set this stack up for a 1/4in cut? the reason i ask is because the outer blades are 1/8in thick each and i thought i had to use at least one chipper blade in between. I know some dado stacks allow just the outer blades to be used, but this one doesn't look like it can, the teeth are too close together. I appreciate any help. As a side note all the other cuts I've made with stack have been fantastic.
Arthur J on Jan 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have used just the two outside blades together and stacked them so the teeth are offset to each other and have had no problem at all.
