Woodworking Experience:
Perfect for my application
I built a folding platform for a router table and needed leg brackets. The fact that these brackets are a little wobbly when used alone didn't matter to me because one side is attached to my very sturdy workbench. I had planned to us 2x2 (1.5" x 1.5") lumber for the legs, and these brackets are sized for that lumber. The brackets are made out of heavy-gauge steel and are not at all flimsy. My problem was solved for 10 bucks. Great product!

This is the second set of these folding leg brackets that I have purchased. The first set worked great, and now I have another similar project to use them on. Note that they work best on fold-out tables, where one edge is attached solidly to a wall. That's because alone the brackets are a bit wobbly.

I specifically want to use 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" legs for this project, and these brackets are designed for that size. I don't mind waiting a few days for the brackets because I will do the wood finishing while I am waiting.

What is the minimum dimension when in the folded position?
Jonathan L. W on Nov 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Will these brackets support a top of 1-1/8” MDF with a 42”diameter?
how to install?
jessie r on Oct 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Screw the bracket to the table first. Then to the legs. If you plan on installing leg levelers, do that before installing.
Are the screws included?
Barb C on Jun 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes, they are included.
Will this hinge work on rounded. Legs?
Geri M on Sep 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Rounded legs will not work with this hinge. However, if you cut a block of good hardwood to fit in the hinge, then drill a hole in the block to accommodate the leg. Glue it and let it cure.
could this be used with an apron?
lizsga on Jun 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Needs to have a solid surface when mounting.
Wood or particle board.
Will these legs support a 42” round table made from 1-1/8 “ thick MDF?
Billy on May 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They should, given that they lock in place, but it depends upon how much weight you plan to put on top of the table. If you plan to constantly re-position or move the table, I question the use of MDF for this purpose. The screw holes will eventually dilate and loosen the brackets in MDF.
Thinking of buying these for a pull out shelf I’m building in my workbench at an optimal height for my table router and bandsaw. Do you think they are sturdy enough for that type of load?
Rbarr on Jul 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I bought them for an outfield table I built for my table saw. They work great for that but there is a little play in them. The two legs are holding about 35 pounds of weight and they do wiggle a bit but not much. Hope this helps you.
Is there a right hand and a left handed bracket?
Ernest B on Jan 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No. If the table top or horizontal surface is less that 2x the length of the legs, then the brackets need to be installed offset form each other so the legs will not hit each other when folded up
How many in the packe?
Ramon on Sep 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 1 pair per package
Table shown is flat so what if table has rails mounted below the top like most do? Will these still work?
M S on Oct 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I used them and they had an apron around the bottom. You just need to offset and make sure that they will clear when in both the locked store away position and when in the useable position. The apron can help stabilize the legs also.
Having trouble opening the bracket. 3 of the 4 opened fine but can't get the 4th one to open up. Is there a trick to opening them?
Rick D on Aug 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We've not had any problems. Since three are working, perhaps there is a dent or a screw isn't in properly and can be getting in the way. Good luck. Dick
Will the opposing legs offset when you raise them up under the table?
Steve O on Aug 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, if you mount them folding toward each other you need to mount one of them further from the edge so they don't hit each other.
Will the opposing legs offset under the table when you fold them up?
Steve O on Aug 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Only if you offset the hinges. If you do that, the legs are not in the same relative position to each corner and may look oddly placed..

What I did to keep the legs in the same relative position to each corner of the table was to have each leg fold up in a different direction in a clockwise or counter-clockwise manner.(just like the folding legs of a card table). When the legs are down everything looks square and symmetrical. When the legs are up, they are all pointed in a different direction and don't interfere with each other.
Will this folding leg bracket work for an on stage riser for a drummer with 10” legs: is it strong enough?
Airtight Band on Jul 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These leg brackets are intended for light-to-medium-duty applications, such as tables. I would not suggest these brackets for this use.
Can I get a set where one has a right-handed thumb mechanism and one has a left-handed?
scott w on Jan 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't think so. I have purchased two sets and they are both right sided.
What is the radius of the quarter rounded part of this hinge (from the fulcrum to the circumference)?
Marty on Mar 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: right about 1 5/16"....center of pivot pin to outer quadrant
