seam ripper purple heart
Turned good and was sized right, because I am a beginner I didn't realize I needed to torch it to bring out the purple, The next time I use purple heart I will torch before finishing.

Great Blanks
Excellent Blanks. Very square and had excellent results in turning pens with a Celtic Knot.

Quality Wood
Not much to say about it. It's a block of wood. No major defects, no knots. Overall nice wood.

I would recommend this blank when you have a request for pens to honor veterans by their family. The appearance is great and the representation to the veteran will always hit home.

Purpleheart
Very nice wood to work with.
Makes a beautiful looking pen/pencil or whatever you want to make. Give it 4-5 coats of wax and very pretty.

It is a good quality pen blank, was easy to turn and finish. I didn’t think it was purple after turning more of a reddish brown. I “burnt” to bring up grain and deepen the purple color.
On the lathe, just turned and ready for finishing and not very purple!?!?
“Burnt” and finished, a Manhattan pen! (the pen box is made of walnut with oak accents)
