Woodworkers who tend toward smaller projects will love our Rockler Compact Router Ellipse and Circle Jig. It features all of the easy smooth-sliding functionality of its bigger brother (#27712, sold separately), but is used with a lightweight, easy-to-maneuver compact plunge router. Ideal for cutting out the shape of small signs, tabletops and frames, it can cut ellipses from as small as 6'' x 11'' to as large as 19'' x 24'', and circles from 6'' to 24'' in diameter. Set up takes only a couple of minutes and using the jig is just as easy. As you move the router through the cut, the jig's sliding dovetail mechanism keeps the router precisely on the cut line.

  • Made from durable, smooth-sliding phenolic
  • Fits Porter-Cable, Dewalt and Bosch Compact Plunge Routers (#41770 and #41462, sold separately)
  • Setup is easy following the setup diagrams printed directly on the jig
  • Sliding dovetail ways ensure accuracy and ease-of-use
(1) 5'' x 5'' x 1/2'' thick Phenolic Base
(1) 16-1/4''L x 3/4'' thick Phenolic Arm
(2) Dovetail Trammel Bars with Brass Pins

Very useful jig!
Gets down to the smaller sizes I need for making templates. I did have to file the keys a bit so that they could move smoothly through the dovetail intersection. Not a big deal at all. Great jig and I know. I have all the bases, and they all work very well!

Compact circle cutter !
Base did not fit my plunge router, however I was able to re-dill to fit my larger plunger router.! Set up was a breeze, and jig was very accurate ,and easy to use . I made a solid oak 18" dia. frame for a stained glass artwork project. Was able to cut both inside dia,and outside dia. with ease and also rabbeted for recess for glass. Frame was 1" thick ,and 1/1/2" in width. Cuts came out perfect with sharp carbide bit , taking about 3/16" inch passes. Waste piece from middle was recut to make a 12" dia. Lazy Susan ! Super Jig ! I by most of my tools and accessories from Rockler. I have never been disappointed.
I used it for the first time last week and it works great. I make a lot of lazy Susans of very sizes and this really reduces my time and I get a perfect circle. I will be cutting more this weekend and the customers are astounded at the results.

will this fit a PC 6902 or a Bosch 1611?
John David S on May 25, 2017

We have a larger model, item #27712 which will work with larger routers
Can you screw the base on the back side of wood & cut so the finished eclipse/circle won't show holes on the front? (I make signs)
Karen D on Mar 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That's a great idea. I can't see why it wouldn't. But then you only have one shot. Or, you could make a template out of 1/2 or 3/4" mdf, attach that template to your wood using double sided tape, ( Fastcap makes an excellent thin double sided tape), and then cut out the shape with a top mount bearing straight pattern bit.
Will this jig fit my craftsman 1-3/4 hp plunge router base?

BEST ANSWER: I bought the small oval jig only. I've used it several times and it works great.
Can you use this jig to route the edges as well as cutting a circle?
Roger C on Sep 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. You can also try a bearing or bushing guided router bit.
What is max length and width it will cut ?
Gary W on Feb 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The maximum diameter of a circle will be 24" and the maximum for the ellipse will be 19"x 24". If you need to know the minimums , they are 6" diameter for the circle and 6"x 11" for the ellipse.

Az plus 1 on Feb 15, 2019
Will this work with the Rigid R2401?
Troy R on Jul 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The instructions list the trim routers it will work with; the Rigid is not one of them. If the mounting holes for the Rigid match the mounting holes provided, it should work. Another option would be to drill mounting holes for the Rigid. HTH
