Go BIG or go home!
Im new to wood working and being limited to space im limited to working in the garage. Im tired of cleaning up after or during each project so i decided to make the plunge on dust collection. With so many options i wasn't sure where to start. I was headed toward Grizzly, but as i did some more looking i found the Dust Right from Rockler looked good. I seen the wall mounted systems and started looking. With floor space limited it was the way to go. I read some reviews and decided with Rockler within 20 Min of the house i would go check them out. The mistake i made was going to small. I purchased the 650 which honestly would have been enough but much like a high pressure washer or air compressor i figure you can never have enough or more is better. As soon as i hooked it up i told myself to get the 1250. The guys at Rockler told me to come on in and if it was in good shape (which it was) they would fix me up with the exchange. I literally cut one piece on the table saw so it was still clean. I now have the 1250 on the wall with one 4" hose to connect to my bigger tools (planer and bandsaw and a 4" reduced to 1.5" for my smaller tools (miter saw sander, etc) Garage is clean ( that means the Girlfriend is happy) and the 1250 is quieter than expected. Id figure Im always working within 5-12ft from itt and what ever tool im using is louder by far than the collector. I had some dense rubber maybe 1/8th thick so i mounted with a layer to the wall to reduce vibrations and have no issues.I really like having the remote it comes with also. I will be working on a better ducting layout but for now its one 4" tool at a time. I will at some point add a vortex cone of some sort pre-impeller and the 1 micron filter. but not at this time. When im done for the day i still blow the area out with a leaf blower and have noticed almost no fine dust. The only thing that remains is some bigger shavings that dont get sucked in because i dont have a hood hooked up or the top side of my table saw hooked to the vacuum yet. I know there is bigger and better but for my experience 5stars all the way. Hope this helps with anyone's decision for or against.

Awesome dust collector
This unit does not take up a great deal of space, but packs a big punch for it's size. It's awesome as you can mount it on the wall and out of the way. It is a bit loud, but get's the job done right!

Strong suction
Thou I have put this unit to any real test so far it seems to be well put together and of strong construction. I did have to make my own mount not because the one that comes with it dose not work but because of the location I want the unit to be at, my building is made of metal and I want it located between to roll up doors.

As this was a holiday present I was hesitant to give it to my husband early. But glad i did as the packing wasnt enough to protect it. It did get quite a few scratches and scuffs...but oh well its there for work! It seems to work well and as advertised.

Need the 5 micron bag as standard
works great and the remote control makes it easy to mount it out of the way. It is silly that they make you buy another bag ( comes with a 30 micron bag standard and I found it still has dust come through.

I am really hoping this is as good as people said the smaller one was but with a lot more air movement! Maybe I should do a video review of this after using it a while.

How are u pushing (or sucking I guess) 1250 CFM from a *1-1/2HP* dust collector motor?
Bort on Aug 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This is certainly achievable. Depends on RPM, displacement, motor efficiency, etc.
I am limited on vertical space. Can this be floor mounted?
Ron D on Jul 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I called the manufacture and told them I was going to mount the device on a rolling platform horizontal to the ground and they said that's fine. I don't have any issues using mine horizontal to the ground on a mobile base. The documentation that came with the device didn't indicate which position was optimal or even allowed. There are many videos on the net that show people mounting these horizontal to the ground.
Is the motor on this 1250cfm model convertible to 220 volt?

Is there a fan curve graph that can be provided? Similar to another question that was asked, I am curious what happens to the CFM as the static pressure increases?

Any idea on the duty cycle of this? I'm thinking of using it with my CNC's which, on occasion, would require it to 4+ hours continuous.

Does this have a 6" inlet or is it the Same as the 650cfm model?
Chad L on Aug 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The 1250 CFM Dust Collector utilizes a 6" inlet and includes a splitter to provide two 4" inlets.
Is the Dust Right 1250 noise level comparable to a ShopVac? Louder?
Steve S on Jan 13, 2020
BEST ANSWER: As a read-between-the-lines of the other answers would suggest, that depends on your shop vac. Some will be louder than others, depending on their power and other variables. The sound will almost certainly be *different*, because an induction motor turning a large impeller at 3450 rpm is going to produce a different frequency than a universal motor turning a much smaller impeller a couple times faster. In my opinion, the lower frequencies of a slower motor/impeller are easier on the ears--logically, but perhaps incorrectly--I'd reason that the further you move the pitch from that of a crying baby, the less sensitive your ears will be to it.
Does this unit come with any hoses, or do you have to buy those separately?
D M on Dec 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This is a great unit for the price, but does not include hoses.
Can this be mounted on block walls? All the instructions say are about wooden wall studs?
JOHN D on Nov 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I didn’t mount mine on a wood wall , where I wanted mine located there is no wall. I mounted mine between two roll up doors so i made a metal frame and mounted on that. As long as your mounting points are strong and don’t vibrate loose i cant see why you couldn’t mount it on a block wall
Is the remote infrared or rf in other words will it work through a wall?
Chad L on Feb 1, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I presume it's RF. Mine is in the garage. I walked to the furthest point from the garage on the same floor and pointed the remote away from the garage and it worked. I'm not a scientist so I don't know what that means, but it seemed to work when in a different room some distance away and through some number of walls. Good luck...
How is this motor 2x the HP of the 650cfm model yet the same amperage (12)?

Will my existing 650cfm dust canister fit onto 1250 outlet?
Marc C on Sep 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The output ports of these two are identical, so it should fit.
The vac comes with a remote. Is there a product line of others switches, such as remote gate switches that are compatible with the controls in this vac?
David A. T on Aug 9, 2019
