Rockler Roundover/ Beading Router Bits - 1/2" Shank

Item #
GRP2127_2
Rating:
96% of 100

With two included bearings—one flush for a standard round over, and one slightly smaller for a beaded edge—these combination bits make versatile workhorses that will see plenty of use in your shop. Among our most popular router bit choices, they're perfect for making edges softer, both to the touch as well as to the eye. For a bit more definition, just switch the bearing to the beading mode. Shear angle provides the smoothest cut available.

(1) Rockler Round-over/Beading Router Bit, 1/2" Shank (with 1/2" bearing pre-installed)

Nice stable cut.
I was quite pleased with this bit. Good balance and stability even free-handed.
I like the cut. See what you think of this treatment I used on my wife's new open pantry cabinet.

Dining Room Table Topper.
Made a dining room table topper from 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood 164" x 44" (in two sections), rounded the corners with a 7" radius. Used the 1/2" shank roundover to the table top - and then sanded the rounded plywood slightly - and that was it. Came out great - had 12 folks for dinner on New Years day and apparently they were duly impressed with the roundover results.

Rockler roundover bit
The roundover bit was just what I needed to finish a number of boxes I had made for Christmas gifts. The bit works as advertised. I give this bit a top rating just like the other rockler bits I own.

worked perfectly as expected
This tool works as I expect what I buy from Rockler, flawlessly and as it should. There are less expensive bits, but quality shows in the finished product and outlasts the more economical tools. If you can pry loose those few extra dollars, you won't be disappointed.

Great results
This router bit is study and sharp and gives consistent round over results with no tear out. There are similar router bits on the market at a much higher price but I'm sticking to Rockler router bits.

How do I determine the roundover dimentions? Most roundover bits round over 3/8, 1/2, etc.
Leland D on Nov 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: On our website it can be a little confusing. The first number is the full diameter of the bit, the second number is height of the cutting surface of the bit, the third number is the radius and the last number listed it the shank width (1/4" or 1/2")
I'm trying to replace router bit #91353. I don't see that one here. Have the numbers changed?
Rich S on Mar 5, 2016
Round over both sides of 3/4" board to creat a fully rounded edge. What size bit?
Rick B on Jul 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Use a 3/8" radius router bit. Rockler has #29340
Why the different heights and widths? I want 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 radius round over bits with a 1/2 shank. Unlike say a trim bit which may require longer cutting edge(s).
al b on Jan 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Correction: The main bearing diameter is d = 1/2" (the 3/8" diameter bit is the auxiliary bearing), so A = 2 × R + 1/2".
I need to know what size bit to bullnose a 2" board?
Keith C on Apr 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Either use a bullnose bit with a radius that is half the thickness of the board or use a roundover bit with a radius that is half the thickness of the board and rout the edge from the top and bottom of the board.

BEST ANSWER: try #22804 at Rockler.com
what are the dimensions referring to with your roundover bits?
Scott on May 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: D refers to the diameter of the bit
H refers to the total height of the cutting portion of the bit
R refers to the radius of the bit
and
Shank refers to the the size of the shank of the bit. 1/4" and 1/2"
Where can I get a 3/8"r roundover w/flush bearing having a 2+" long x 1/2" dia. shank?
Michael W on Mar 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure where you'll find a bit with a shank length of 2+", but you could use a 1/2" router collet extension:
http://www.rockler.com/rockler-router-collet-extension-for-1-2-in-shank-bits
What are the dimensions of the pilot bearings? I understand that the bits come with two bearings: flush and undersized. For my project, though, I need to know both the ID and OD of the bearings of the roundover bits from 1/8-3/8 radii.
