Ssasw stop brake
works too good have now gone thru three cartrigides since I got the saw. First time it touched the finger joint jig I had purchased the second time it ran into a wet pocket of a cedar 4X4 I was cutting and the last time was completely my fault as I had a six inch ruler settig on top of the table saw and it got trapped under the wood piece that i was cutting. Still have all my fingers and am smarter on how to use the saw.

Woodworking Experience:
Expensive but if you every need it, it works
One caveat, again this operates by detecting minute changes in the current running through your blade and through the brake circuit board. If you have an extended miter push thing (dn't know the name) like the Incra, you can't let the edge get close than 3//16" to 1/4" to the blade or the change in the magnetic field will set the brake off, particularly if you are using a thin kerf blade that will flex.

Your blade will end up embedded well into the aluminum so btw replace the brake cartridge and your blade, accidental activations are not wallet friendly.

Woodworking Experience:
Replacing brake cartridge
Quite by accident I touched a retractable tape measure to the blade and WOW it responded so fast I could not see it happening. The replacement was a snap, could not be happier with the experience, also the team at my Indianapolis store have been great In helping me set up my new wood shop. Over the past year I have purchased a saw stop, delta planner, jet joiner, laguna band saw and so much associated accessories. I plumbed my 40 X 40 shop with a state of the art dust collection system as well.

It's Great
Since I haven't had to use it yet, it's great! I have been fortunate enough to have kept my fingers away from the blades, so it's mate is still on patrol. SawStop is worth ever penny.

Woodworking Experience:
Great saw, I use it all the time in my shop. Great features. Well thought out saw.
Best on the market. Love the fence, very accurate for cutting. Yes, you pay more, but what does a medical visit to the hospital cost? I've always respected my equiptment, but accidents can happen. All it takes is 1 time to ruin your day. Worth the cost.

Hopefully never have to worry about it being used, but feel safer than with any other saws. But still showing the respect for this piece of machinery.

Just purchased cartridge, but do I need brackets purchased separately?
LeRoy Y on Feb 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The brackets come with the installed cartridge. When you install a new cartridge, the brackets resident on the saw fit the new one. I've changed cartridges from the standard one for the 10" blade to a dado blade and back with no problems. I didn't have to buy anything in addition to the cartridges themselves.
I have an older model that takes TSBC-10L. will this cartridge fit?
Tucker K on Nov 8, 2016

Thank you for your question. No, the TSBC-10R2 (blue) cartridge won't fit on your older SawStop Industrial Cabinet saw. Your cartridge is the TSBC-10L (clear), which is our Legacy cartridge, which we will always make for your saw, but Rockler stores may or may not carry. If your local Rockler store doesn't carry the TSBC-10L cartridge, then you can order it from our online parts store, as well.
Will the sawstop work with a kobalt table saw?
Gygantus on May 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it’s a whole system. To my knowledge you have to have a sawstop table saw; this is just the replaceable cartridge for when it trips.
Can I install Sawstop on my table saw?
Rodger R on Oct 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Only if it is a sawstop table saw. They don't fit on any other type of table saw.
can I use this safety technology in different field... stop piston?
Donald on Mar 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Donald: In response to your request, in theory our technology could be applied to many applications. As much as we would like to see our technology implemented on other applications, we don’t have the resources to provide you any assistance with this task. We are focused on expanding our product line to include products that are applicable to the largest market space, such as table saws. Is not a simple bolt on type of technology and must be engineered into the product at considerable development expense - likely in the hundreds of 1000's of dollars. We have limited engineering resources, so unfortunately they wouldn’t be able to provide assistance.
Will this work on a new Grizzly 10 inch table saw?
Lowell R on Jul 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question on Rockler's website. What you are looking at is our Standard Brake Cartridge for the blade brake system in SawStop table saws. No, it is not economically practical to retrofit other manufacturers’ table saws. The structural changes necessary to incorporate the safety system into another saw and the cost to have it installed would exceed the cost of a new saw. We offer saws ranging from a Jobsite 1.5HP model up to an Industrial 7.5HP cabinet saw currently.
will this break fit on a jet tablesaw?
Eric M on Oct 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No it will not.
