Shedua goes by a number of alternate names, including Ovangkol, Amazique and Mozambique, depending on what application the wood is used for. However, these are all names for the same African species: Guibourtia ehie. Shedua features an attractive brown base color with darker brown to black striping and pale yellow sapwood. Texture is medium to coarse with moderate luster. Shedua is comparable to white oak in hardness, and turns and finishes well.
