Titebond® Quick & Thick Multi-Surface Glue

Item #
92% of 100

Franklin's Titebond Quick & Thick Multi-Surface Glue is thicker than standard wood glue, eliminating drips and excess squeeze-out when working with moldings, trim, and similar elements with inside glue joints that are hard to sand after being applied. Every woodworker knows the frustration of trying to stain a project, only to find glue residue that won't accept the stain. Titebond's Quick & Thick Multi-Surface Glue provides strong initial tack and fast speed of set, yet allows realignment of working pieces to ensure proper positioning before bonding. It develops a bond stronger than the wood itself, offers excellent sandability, and is unaffected by finishes.

  • Dries clear
  • Fast set time
  • Excellent sandability
  • No run-no drip wood molding glue
  • Thickest, fastest-drying glue available for use with porous and semi-porous materials
  • Ideal for finish trim, crown molding, baseboards, window casings and other applications requiring a professional-strength, no-run wood glue
(1) 8 oz. Bottle of Titebond Quick & Thick Multi-Surface Glue

Permanent Adhesion
This stuff works great. Easy to apply, hardens fast once the parts are put together so you don't have to rush. Dries quickly so you may proceed with the next step.

Woodworking Experience:
Worked great in place of contact cement with vaneer
I had a small 10” X 10l” piece of veneer that I needed to attach on the end of a fireplace mantel. From what I was told, contact cement wasn’t able to be sold where I was. I needed to get the project finished and this worked fine.

Woodworking Experience:
Great for picture frame assembly
I had a number of picture frames to assemble and needed a glue that would set up quickly so I could move the finished frames easily to make room on my workbench. Tite bond quick and thick and my pin nailer did a great job. Definitely the way to go if you need something that works quickly.

Woodworking Experience:
One of the best low cost glues
We have tried many different glues building weight bearing bridges. This one has the best combined value for relatively fast drying, not too runny, and dries light. It does not cost us $25 an ounce. Proper drying time allows to reposition the wood when needed.

It is fairly strong when dry, but not very penetrative even with balsa. We sometimes coat the joints with balsa glue to build a bigger bounding zone after it was dry.

I sell a lot of items made from 3mm Baltic Birch plywood attached with finger joints as well as mortise & tenons. Squeeze out with yellow wood glue can be unsightly, and sometimes difficult to reach and clean up. Figured I'd give this a try to minimize both squeeze out and glue visibility.

Is this glue suitable for a plywood dado joint? Is it just as strong as titebond 3, and ok to use where the joint may get very light exposure to moisture?
Justin G on Nov 5, 2016

What types of glue is best to adhere trim wood moulding to drywall ceiling?
Mark A on Jan 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Titebond molding and trim glue will work the best. I use it all the time with crown ceiling molding --it sets fast and holds well-its white and when it dries you cannot even see it
I have been working on a rocking horse project. I glued board pieces together without planing each board beforehand. There are some gaps that clamping the boards during drying time didn't take care of. Do you think this glue would work well at filling those gaps? I was going to go with epoxy as I am going to paint the project anyway when it is finished.
Susanna W on Feb 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If the boards are predominantly touching they should stay together. Since you're going to paint, fill the gaps with a good wood filler, then sand flush and paint. You might want to look into some type of mechanical system of joining along with the glue. These might include biscuits, dowels or splines.

Stephanie F on Dec 28, 2016
