Toggle Clamp Mounting Plate

Item #
96% of 100
This convenient plate allows any of our toggle clamps to quickly and easily attach directly to a T-track. Just mount a toggle clamp to the plate, then affix the whole assembly to any T-track on the market. Use it to get the most out of your toggle clamps and any workbenches, tables, jigs or surfaces with T-tracks. It's a great way to add a hold-down to fences with top-mounted T-tracks. The steel plate features adjustable slots to accommodate a wide variety of toggle clamps and comes complete with mounting screws and all the necessary hardware and knobs. Toggle clamps sold separately.

Great idea
This product makes easy to move toggle clamps etc from one work area to another without having to change bases. It's a great idea. I'm going to order 5 more now that I know how good they are.

Woodworking Experience:
Mounting platform and hardware
The cold hard facts...! I was in the San Diego store to purchase 1" knobs and short t-bolts for an adjustable fence table saw jig I putting together and located nearby in the jig hardware section was this mounting platform. And it contained suitable small knobs as well as the t-bolts I needed. The total price for all the parts in the plate kit is less expensive than the price for the individual components. Even though I purchased a couple of the more pricey knobs (because I wasn't certain how much 'clamping' pressure I would need to use and I certainly did not want to hurt my precious pinkies) but there is still a chance that I'll use the hardware for it's intended purpose in the end.

Good idea
In the limited time I have used this clamp it has worked as designed. Using the plate with a clamp for a stop block, or whatever you use it for you need to look into ddifferent types of clamps. Long stemed clamps, horrizontal clamps, or whichever way you want to use them, but, they are engineered to a certain amount of strain so it may be easy to bend this bracket if you are not paying attention.

Adaptable to various configurations
I bought one of these so I could use one of my toggle clamps in more than one permanent location. I was surprised that it came with all of the hardware that I needed to mount the clamp AND two types of track mounts (T-Bolt and 1/4" bolts and knobs). I liked it so much that I ordered a couple more! With everything that is included, it is well worth the price.

Well, these new metal bases are...
Well, these new metal bases are even better[than wood blocks]. They are more flush than the wood blocks, they are more adjustable as to where the clamp is mounted, and you can even do some angle mounting if needed. You can add/remove/change a clamp with very little effort. One side of the plate is countersunk, so the screws go in without causing any clearance problems. I'd recommend having a couple of these (at least) for mounting clamps that you want to engage into a t-track.

Great product, but...
The product does what it is designed to do, but I would like to have the slots fitted better for the screw sizes that fit the toggle clamps mounting holes better. My fitting for clamps onto this base leaves a lot of slop, and I'm not sure that the clamps are not moving while in use, not on the T track, but between the clamp and the plate. It seems that the two parts were not necessarily made to work with one another on purpose as the fitment just isn't there as well as I would have expected.

Great way to mount a Rockler...
Great way to mount a Rockler Multi-Track fence to a Magswitch MagSquare (two plates for two MagSquares). Just add m5 x 0.8mm screws; the plates come with the T-nuts for the fence. Presto! Magnetic fence!(Product loses a star because it's made in Taiwan.)

I could make it but for the time to do that. My time will be better spent using the clamp than making a plate.

Is the bottom of this plate recessed enough so that the screw heads don't protrude beyond the bottom plane of the plate?
Oscar G on Jan 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The question is a bit confusing. This plate is flat on both sides with the slots cut into it for sliding adjustability of the bolt and knob. When mounted, the bolt heads extend beyond the bottom of the plate into the t-track. To lock it in place, simply finger-tighten the bolt and knob to apply pressure to the plate from above and the t-track from below. It doesn’t take a lot of pressure to lock it in -- use care not to over-tighten the knob over use too much force with the toggle clamp or you can damage the aluminum t-track by deflecting or denting it.
