Rockler Undersized Straight Router Bits - 1/4" Shank
These straight bits are slightly undersized to cut tight-fitting grooves and dadoes for plywood that is thinner than its stated nominal thickness, which applies to most plywood and veneered MDF. Typical straight bits leave an unsightly gap when used for plywood joinery. Use these bits to cut grooves, dadoes and rabbets. Of course, they can also be used for general purpose material removal or any application which requires a flat, finished bottom. The two-flute cutters give a smooth finish with a medium feed rate. Two flutes, 1/4" shank.

Undersize Plywood Bit
This is a perfectly well built bit. Sharp and clears the cuttings nicely. I have no complaints with this product or pricing however, I was wanting this for cutting dado for 1/2" plywood. The dado was clean but could have been just a little tighter. The width of the cut is exactly as it was advertised.

This is a good value.

Worked as advertised
This router bit cut cleanly, fast and provided a groove that allowed the 1/4 inch plywood drawer bottom to fit snugly. I am very happy..

Undersized straight bit
As a beginner in my first large project, with several large pieces already cut, I was very nervous about not messing up the dados (because of their importance for the alignment and strength of the cabinets.) The Rockler Sales person gave me some very helpful teaching and direction in using this bit. The dados turned out great.

Already had another brand of 3/4" plywood bit with a 1/4" shank. The bit worked loose and screwed up the workpiece. Your bit works well, and with the 1/2" shank it stays secure in the chuck.

I work with plywood a lot! It's always 23/32 when making benches, desks, etc. I want to use dados to make my work look more professional and this bit will do that for me. I could make a jig for this but I would still need a top bearing bit. This eliminates the need for the jig. I'm really glad you make these undersized bits! Amazing forward thinking Rockler!
