Simply The Best !
As always with Rockler, this 105 degree stop piano hinge is far higher quality than those offered elsewhere. Every time I open the jewelry box I just made I am drawn to this hinge as impeccably constructed.

Great hinge for a box.

Stop hinge did the job.
Nice little hinge for a flip top recipe box- to hold a recipe card in use. I used the oil rubbed bronze which worked very well in that a slightly aged, distressed look was the goal and the hinge finish accommodated the look with very light scuffing with abrasive pad.
The stop hinge holds the card at a very good angle with no other hardware needed.

Stop hinge for Paradise Box
This stop hinge worked great for my Vectric Paradise Box build. I used the screw hardware the came with it by predrilling the holes, then put a drop of CA glue on the threads and screwed them in place.
Like how it holds the lid open.
Usex the stop hinge for the Vectric Paradise Box built with walnut & maple. Tbis view is unfinished
This view is finished with 3 light coats of lacquer.

I am looking for something like this for a cedar chest 24x13, 3/4 think walls. I would use this in combination with a support bracket for the lid. Is this big enough?

BEST ANSWER: I wouldn't. It's only 8 inches long and about 1/2 inch in width. Not going to fit your purpose. This bracket is for little jewelry boxes and stuff. Hope this helps.
Does anyone know what size screw these use so I can buy replacement screws? The heads strip really easy, but I like the hinge. It would be nice to have extra screws on hand.

BEST ANSWER: I had the same issue but after raiding my tool box and trying every screw driver I owned I found one that fit very well and I no longer have that issue.

BEST ANSWER: I think there about a 1/2 inch but i did not use the screws that came with the hing as my box needed shoter screws and i was able to get them at ace hardware.

I have a small jewelry box 9.5L x 7.75W x 3.5H that has a wall thickness of a little over 5/16". Does anyone have the actual dimension from the edge of the hinge to where the round part starts? I am trying to determine how far out of the back of the box the will protrude if I make the edge of the hinge flush with the inside edge of the box.

BEST ANSWER: The leaf width is 7.6 mm and 5/16" = 7.9 mm. So I think this will work for you (only 0.3 mm protruding before the rolled part).

BEST ANSWER: its made of steel. So if the nickle plating ever wears off it will rust. However, I cannot image how that would ever happen. They are good hinges :)
Can the 8" hinge be cut in half to make 2 4" hinges?

BEST ANSWER: you will wind up with an unsymmetrical hinge. That is up yo your taste.

BEST ANSWER: It's a 105-deg hinge, so it doesn't open flat. Using the Law of Sines and a leaf width of 7.6 mm, the maximum width of the open hinge (i.e., the widest base of the isosceles triangle) is 12.1 mm.
