Its a nice hinge but not strong enough for my jewelry armoire lid. I'll use these on a smaller project that is coming next.

Excellent product Excellent price.
The 105 degree stop hinge is perfect for the wooden keepsake/jewlery boxes that I have been making. There's no chain or deep mortises to deal with, the finish is durable and consistant. The price is right just what a woodworker needs.

Wanted to share a tidbit about how to set them
I noticed a review mention that the leaves are slightly offset, thus making setting your lid square/flush difficult. I haven't used these shorter hinges yet, but have used the 8" variety and they have an offset as well.
There is a pretty easy way to compensate for this. Cut your mortise in one piece -- lid or body, doesn't particularly matter. Then set the lid down with the sides flush to the box. Mark both ends of the other leaf using a marking knife on the non-mortised piece of your box. Take the hinge off the piece that is already mortised. Line up the ends of the leaf on your newly made marks, and trace the hinge. Now cut your second mortise using that outline. Hope this might help future users!

They were exactly what I needed for the small box I built. Perfect! And that it only opens 105 degrees was even better.

Inside stop hinges
I like the hinge ok I wish it was available in different finishes also It would be nice to have inside stop hinges in smaller size The high priced hinges are just too costly to put on the small boxes that I make. OOP's I just noticed you offer different finishes THE SMALLER SIZE say an inch or a little longer would be nice

Work very Well
These are a little trickier to install than the single 8" long hinges, but when I need to span a longer box length I have used these. Look nice and don't require a lot of work to install. I hate some of the fancier hinges that require a router etc. When I am this close to finishing a box I hate to take a chance on screwing it up routing out a pocket for a hidden hinge.

Stop feature is nice. Otherwise it's just an inexpensive hinge.
I like the hinge and will use it again because the 105-degree stop feature works well for my application (and it was available in Antique Bronze; my wife doesn't like brass). But otherwise it's just a cheap thin-plates hinge. I prefer thicker plates that close to the same dimension as the barrel (ala Brusso) but that would be a much more expensive hinge.

Great hinge for the price.
I bought these hinges for a project that has a heavy lid. I was' t sure they would stand up to the task but they work really well.
Just remember to pre drill the holes for the screws first.

Do the antique brass stop hinges come as a pair? The other finishes all state pair.
BEST ANSWER: Yes they do. The detail of quantity is just an oversight on behalf of Rockler.

There is an oil rubbed bronze hinge, but the photo looks like it's black. I actually want the black hinge, so which is it...oil rubbed bronze or black?
What size are the screws that these hinges use?
BEST ANSWER: #2-1/2 which are generally not stocked. I use #4-1/2 when I need a replacement screw.

I have two wooden music boxes made in Italy both have 105stop degree hinges .one has a 7 inch with 4 holes on each side. And the other has a 5 inch with 3 holes on each side. I can't find them anywhere ,do you have any ideas?? If so I need them preferrably in brass.thank you for any help you can give.
