Rockler 11.25° Chamfer Router Bit - 7/8" Dia x 7/8" H x 1/2" Shank
This chamfer bit can be used to apply a beveled edge to cabinetry and furniture elements, or to chamfer the edge joints for multi-sided objects. With an 11.25 degree angle, it's perfectly suited for 16-sided barrels or columns, and you can also use it to build segmented turning blanks.

A few months ago, I used...
A few months ago, I used my radial arm saw to cut eighteen (sixteen and two spares) staves for a non-tapered cylindrical cedar barrel to hold 50 pounds of whole wheat flour. Due to my less than stellar accuracy, the barrel took seventeen staves. When I kneaded (baker joke) another barrel for rye flour, I decided to try this chamfer bit. I ended up with sixteen perfectly-fitting smooth edged staves.
