Unit was very east to install. Works great. Used it to turn a 12" bowl and the ability to work without leaning over the lathe bed was very much appreciated.

Very nice extension
I installed the extension and the extra room is very nice. I was able to get it leveled quickly and thightened down. It's as solid as the rest of the lathe.

well made
Only thing that would be nice is a quicker way to transfer it from the main bed to the outboard side. You have to get under and unscrew allen head screws. Would be nice if a quick clamping system were designed.

Del's bed extension review
I haven't used the extension for outboard turning yet. The only difficulty I have found is trying to tighten the boltssince they are so close underneath the extension.

What are the dimensions of the 1216 stand at the floor? I'm looking for the size to fit it with a mobility kit.
Steve on Jan 5, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The base at the bottom is 17 inches x 38 inches. The height is adjustable but on casters we have it set at 28-1/2 inches off the floor. Hope this helps
