Rockler CrossCut Sled Drop-Off Platform

Combined with our Crosscut Sled (#33113, sold separately), this platform will provide true zero-clearance support on both sides of the blade for safe, splinter-free cuts. By keeping drop-off pieces from sagging at the end of the cut, it prevents them from splitting off unpredictably, and from getting jammed in the throat plate. Easy to use - just slide it into the miter track and lock in place with a single screw.

must have accessory for sled
The drop-off platform is a must have if you get the cutoff sled. it gives you the advantage of a zero clearance throat plate without having to install yours and is really a necessity in order to avoid drop off of the cut off piece which can leave a jagged corner.

I recently added the drop off to my sled and used the set to cut thansition pieces for the second room I installed laminate flooring in. For the first room I used portable box to cut these pieces which require 45 degree joints. Using the cross cut sled and drop off platform gave me perfect joints without the fustration when I used the box. I also used the set for the baseboard pieces I needed to cover that required perimeter gag of the laminate flooring. This set is the solution perfect producing to 45 degree joints.

I got this along with the crosscut sled. This was the easiest part of the set up. Just put the runner in the miter slot and run it thru the blade......INSTANT zero clearance on the right side of the blade. It works GREAT...along with the crosscut sled. It's worth the extra money to get both, really. My hat's off to Rockler for both of these fine accessories for the table saw!!

I have no idea, it seemed to go with the crosscut sled. More than likely to reduce the stress on the wood when approaching the end of a cut.

We own the small sized Rockler sled but need a new one as we have changed table saws and ours was cut to fit the old non-standard saw; however, you no longer carry the smaller sized sled so we are upgrading to the full sized sled as this is the only option available to us. We like the design.
