Straps your shop vacuum and separator together so you can roll them around without tipping, tangling or dislodging hoses.

Dust Right® Vacuum Harness

56% of 100

Dust separators are a no-brainer for getting the most out of your shop vacuum dust collection system. If only they weren't so...well...''separated'' from the vacuum. That's where the Dust Right® Vacuum Harness can tie it all together. It consists of a central support bracket with straps on either side that wrap around both your vacuum and the Dust Right® Dust Separator (#45556, sold separately). Once secured together, you can roll the entire vac/separator combo around with far less chance of tipping, catching on obstacles, or tangling or detaching the various hoses.

  • Ties your vacuum and separator together for more stability and easier portability
  • Heavy-duty adjustable straps are long enough to accommodate most shop vacuums
  • Straps are height adjustable so you can determine where the strap will wrap, ensuring a tight fit
  • Quick-release buckles let you easily detach separator or vacuum for easy chip disposal
  • No-mar feet on bracket are adjustable to fit the specific contours of your vacuum
  • 3/4'' holes on top of bracket let you add 3/4'' dowels for shop-made accessories

Woodworking Experience:
I would say its necessary
I would say this is necessary for any mobile shop vac. Allows me to easily move the vac where it is needed.

No More Tipping over
I bought this to prevent my vacuum from tipping and it works great. Set up was a little hard with one person, duck tape solved that. a second pair of hands would have helped.
After setup. the straps around my dust separator kept slipping. Most likely because the surface was dusty. I should have cleaned it first. I went one further and permanently attached the bracket to the dust separator using four 3/4 inch sheet metal screws and fender washers. looks a lot neater now!
I definitely recommend this!

Woodworking Experience:
Easily couples shop vac and separator together to prevent both from tipping over.
The harness prevents the top heavy separator from tipping over when being pulled across the shop floor. This speeds up clean up and prevents potentially expensive damage to shop vac and separator. I have little room in my shop and now I can quickly move both units together without banging into anything or unit tip-over.

Woodworking Experience:
Worth the struggle
For me it was really hard to get the two piece straps put together and adjusted to the right length to hook the vacuum and dust separator together.. I almost gave up, but finally got it done. It works good and nice to have the two hooked together.

Dust Right Vacuum Harness
Very Satisfied with the end result and functionality of the harness.
It did take quite a bit of time/ maneuvering during the connection process as my vac & separator were purchased from HD. Instructions were somewhat confusing and product photos on the box were more helpful. Here I would suggest larger (wider) straps to make handling much easier. I also would liked to have seen some velcro on the ends to attach excess strapping. Preferred not to cut any strapping in the event my components would change. The adjustment rods
do manage to make an adequate connection between the components. However, contingent on the shape, size, angle of the separator, these too require quite a bit of rigging to get a relatively tight connection. Thus far, the harness has done its job in connecting my vac/separator. I'm leery of having to disconnect the harness for vac/separator maintenance and having to redo all the former concerns. This harness appears to be more Rockler product line specific. As noted, it can be used with most shop vacs/cyclones but be prepared to spend some time adapting & assembling. I'm always a bit skeptical of products indicating a "universal, fits all" feature. If this is not a personal issue, then I would highly recommend purchasing this harness.

Woodworking Experience:
Does the job well
‘This is a great product but four hands are definitely better than two. The belts kept sliding down while I was holding the devider in the spot it needs to be in and adjusting the standoffs with the other hand. It took an hour to get everything adjusted and in the right place. It does do the job though and after you get it installed it really works. Just use two people if you want it completed in a short time without all the headaches I had.

Woodworking Experience:
Good, but could use some decent assembly instructions and hints
Once I got this attached to both my Shop Vac and Dust Right bin it seems to work as advertised. As far as assembly goes, you're pretty much on your own with regard to figuring out what goes where and the best way to attach the clips to the appropriate straps. Written instructions and some tips on the best way to go about assembling the harness and attaching it to the two tubs would upgrade my rating significantly.

How much clearance doe this have in front of vacuum?
Danno on Oct 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You have a couple inches of clearance but because of tool rack on my Rigid vac I had to buy some 3 1/2" bolts from Home Depot to make it fit securely. Now it works great.
