Create strong, attractive joints for drawers, boxes and carcases with these Freud dovetail router bits. The 7° angle is very close to a 1:8 ratio, which is recommended for joining hardwoods and is very well-suited for decorative purposes such as exposed dovetails. The 14° angle provides a stronger wedging action. This more rigid mechanical interlock is ideal for making softwood dovetail joints, which can tend to loosen over time if the fibers are damaged by racking, but also can be used for hardwood joints where optimum strength is required. Bits are compatible with many popular dovetail jigs.
