Just wanted to say thanks. My wife was going to throw the clock away. Solid oak circular. Cost us around $100.00 a few years ago. Cost me $12.00 to fix it. Thanks again for having the parts to fix it.

Woodworking Experience:
Excellent company.
I needed to replace a clock movement on a terra-cotta clock/thermometer plaque given to my wife as a present from her sister. I found this movement on Google and it seemed to fit my needs. When it arrived, I immediately removed the defective movement and replaced it with the one I ordered from Rockler. It fit perfectly. I was able to use the hands from the old movement to match the hand on the thermometer. It is accurate and couldn’t have been easier to install. Highly recommend using this company for replacement movements.

If I have a 1/4" clock face should I buy a max 3/8" movement to be sure it will fit?
ed a on Mar 31, 2017
How far does the stem project above the clock face....Is that the maximum face thickness? Or is that the diameter of the stem projecting from the works?
Paul E on Jul 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The face thickness refers to the thickness of the clock at the stem. IE: 3/8 in. is the max thickness of the wood for the clock stem to protrude enough to put on the nut and hands for a (3/8 in. face thickness clock fitter). If the wood is too thick, just rout or carve out the back of the wood the size of the fitter to leave only a thickness of 3/8 in. or less.
recommended size of clock face? looking to make 10-15"
A shopper on Jul 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: yes, this would be suitable for such a clock. You'll want to consider the size of the clock hands you'll be using.
How thick is the unit? Is that the 9/16" diameter the details refers to?
ClsCls on May 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The thickness of the black case of the clock fitter is about 3/4 in. The max face, refers to the thickness of the clock face that the stem of the clock must go through for the nut and clock hands. The ' max face' dimension must be greater than the thickness of the clock face.
Does this movement have a seconds hand?
A shopper on Apr 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No hands included, but will accommodate a second hand.
Do u have kits with a longer shaft for thicker wood?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: they do make kits for thicker wood. The thickness is stated on the package. Whether or not they carry what you need depends on what thickness you are working with. They do have limitations
Hi I'm making a clock for myself and am very new to woodworking and its my first project. But I dont know which thickness one to get. I dont mind routing a little to make it fit but I dont want it to look bad. My clock thickness is approx 11/16" thick? Thank you..
Bekim K on Jan 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It looks like you should get the maximum 3/4" Face Thickness model. That is 12/16", only 1/16" more than the thickness of your clock face, so you might still have to do some wood work to make it fit.
how do you fasten it to the face?
lisa c on Mar 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Remove the large brass nut, slide the spindle through the clock face and secure the face to the movement by screwing the brass nut back onto the spindle.

Loxmyth65 on Dec 20, 2015

Will it fit a 21/8x 21/8 Size?

BEST ANSWER: I bought and used this over a year ago - the clock face was at least 6" wide and I just don't remember. So sorry.
Does quartz movement make a ticking noise?
Neal R on Dec 22, 2018

need replacement movement for sterling & noble clock large serial no 2055787?
Bev H on May 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Are you asking if it would fit that clock? I don't know, I found that I had to try it to see if it would fit mine that I bought from Crate & Barrel. A clock shop offered to replace quartz movement for me, and later realized why he offered, because the length of the shaft has to be long enough to stick through the other side, but short enough to not hit the glass on the other side.
no recess?Or does it require a recess to be cut into wood?
birdie887 on Jun 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: In my application I did not need to recess this clock moment. That was a couple of years ago and it still works great. I hope this helps.

What size works do I need for a CD clock ?
Chryse S on Nov 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The opening in the CD face doesn't matter, as the only difference is in the protrusion of the stem beyond the face. As a CD is pretty thin, I'd suggest something pretty thin; probably 1/4" or so. Don't forget to order the hands for the clock.
The piece I'm putting this movement in is cherry, 7/8" thick. The hands will float on the face, no cover as it is my own design. Will the hands work with a 3/4" shaft?
Victoria on Sep 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I doubt it but you could drill out the back to recess the movement in it works fine . need large forrester bit or router to do recess
Hi if I order the large Serpentine clock hands12 inches what Mini Quartz movements would I order with it??
Sue N on Aug 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Sue, I'm sorry to say that I cannot answer that question.
Will this movement support 7" hands?
Leona K on Apr 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It depends greatly on the weight of the hands. If they're very thin, or very little material, then probably. But if they are thick or wide, it may slow the movement down.
I made an intarsia piece and i would like to turn it into a clock. Is this what I need? the board is 3/4" thick. Please and thank you
ClsCls on May 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It should work if you get the #35122, which can handle up to a 3/4" thick face. You will be right at the limit, though, so, if you mount it and need a wee bit more clearance, you may need to be prepared to rout out the back of the piece by a small amount, say a 1/16" recess.
I need c-battery clock mechanism for a large clock
Joan G on Feb 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This just takes a AA size battery, and the hands that fit it must be thin. But I've done 14" faces with this just fine.

I have a clock that needs a movement like this. It is about 2 feet diameter. But there is a 4 inch cut out which has a pendulum showing. The movement is the battery operated mechanism. The same mechanism causes the pendulum to swing but the pendulum is for show. Is there a mechanism sold here that can move the hands and the pendulum?

I have a brass mariner clock. I can unscrew the front and replace the quartz part. How do I determine the max face thickness it will require please?
alienhuman a on Mar 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I haven't worked with this part yet, but if you look carefully at the photo of the clockworks, you can see the brass threaded part that would fit through the face. The company is saying that a face of X thickness will still allow the brass nut to screw tightly onto the brass threaded part, holding the whole works in place. You simply need to order the particular item relative to the thickness of your face plate.
